Yo, your videos are amazing for someone who is also pretty young and has been practising since 2022. I do South African and half-turn drills so far, do you have any tips on how to not get dizzy and release on the correct angle for full spins? Thanks!
Hi thanks for watching my videos. I am getting my dad to help me answer as I don’t want to tell you the wrong thing. I only did standing throws for a couple of weeks and then went straight to full turns. I have done the odd session with half turns and South African drill but mostly full spins. Just doing the full spin over and over again in training helped the dizziness go away, also as my spin became better I was moving in a forward motion rather than spinning in a circle so that reduces it too. If you look at my videos when I first started my spin was very beginner level but by continually practicing it got better. My best tip is to not look at the ground when moving through the circle, look at where you want to throw it and that helps get a good angle of release. The other thing I have to do is hit a good high point in the middle of the circle because I’m only 148cm tall and 37kgs so I need to make sure I’m getting the right height at release, if I try and focus on the release at the end it never works so the high point in the middle of the circle helps me. Good luck with your throws, let me know how you go 🙂
