Its crazy that you mentioned $30 is the most youve seen out there. When i drove in LA i used to get rides for $100 to san diego (which happens more often then you think) but theyre never really worth it so no one ever takes those. Glad to see you doing good out here! keep it up man. Just waiting on my background to clear to drive out here.
I also Uber and Lyft in vegas for those reading this comment to make the most of my money I leased a 2021 Hyundai Elantra through Hyundai leases pretty much ALL car maintenance is covered under Hyundais insane warranties so I’ve been covered now no matter what happens damages are fixed no out of pocket cost usual ever. Even oil changes are complimentary for 3 years with Hyundai and a lease. I pay a total of 600 a month for the car that includes insurance so this gig can for sure pay the bills if your life is set up right. Also if you just own a car eligible to drive these gigs and don’t have to make payments on of course that maximizes income as well.
thank you for the inside look.. I didn't know that uber shows the price paid out to you and the route all in advance in Vegas just like they do in California. here in New York City, only Lyft shows the route and destination in advance, it still doesn't tell us the trip duration or price in advance though. uber only shows us the trip duration, and customer rating, unless its a reservation ride. but I suppose because of our mandated higher pay, its harder for uber and Lyft to pre-determine a price especially with our unpredictable traffic.
Great video Blake! Couple of quick questions. How long have you been driving for Uber/Lyft? And do you think you would make the same/more/less with eats?
Thanks, Karl! I've been driving off and on for a couple years. I've never tried Uber Eats but I heard that you would less but also make less money. I think it would be worth checking out.
@BlakeDrives I've been watching vids on both. Seems there are many that kill it on eats. Either way, looking forward to your vid if you decide to take the plunge.
Thanks, Mike! I'm surprised New Jersey doesn't have it yet.. does New York? It's definitely a nice feature to have, I do like Lyft more than Uber though.
@@mikefigures5075 Oh, that’s some bullshit. I lived in Northwest Indiana for a couple years and once, I took a ride to Chicago and the same thing happened I wasn’t able to pick anybody up from Illinois.
Thanks for the video! I'm a part time driver in Richmond VA...Since you have upfront fares in Vegas, does your acceptance rate not matter on both Uber and Lyft? Are you in either rewards program?
No way would I do UberX out in those areas. On a busy night you can make much more than $30. Gotta have a premier or Comfort Electric car. Some nights peeps want to go to So Cal or Phoenix and those rides pay over $200 but the trip is too long for me.
How does the destination filter work for you? I am also in Henderson and the destination filter on Uber does NOT work. I try to get home in Henderson and twice I ended up in North Las Vegas!
Hi Steve, thanks for the comment! So, when you have your Uber app open, look at the top right of your screen and you’ll see a search bar 🔍. You just need to make sure that your home address is setup and the navigation filter on turned on. Hope that helps!
So the screenshot that I put on the screen is the final amount which will include the tips. But obviously the one that comes up on my phone at the time is before the tip. Thanks for watching!
Do you have to get extra inssurance coverage as a rideshare driver in vegas ? Do you have to yell your insurance company that you are an uver/ lyft driver ?
I’m not suggesting it’s the best way to go about it. It’s just what I prefer. You’re correct though it would be the same assuming that people actually tip.
I'm considering it here in central CA too...been going back and fourth about the whole thing. If I get your #s, I'm worst off because of CA tax hmmm...

You are my favorite new RUclips rideshare driver

Hi from new Zealand just starting watching your videos a few weeks ago
Wow Vagas has grown since was last there few years ago
I like the video’s really helpful learning new areas in Vegas
I’m glad there’re helping out!
I love watching your video. Go home and have a nice meal. Take care Blake.
Thanks Nick!

nice edit!
Another good vid man. We dont get upfront pricing or destination in New Jersey. Wish we did. We are flying blind.
Thanks, Mike! I'm surprised New Jersey doesn't have it yet.. does New York? It's definitely a nice feature to have, I do like Lyft more than Uber though.
Not sure about nyc. Speaking of ny …. If we drive someone there , we aren’t allowed to pick anyone up. Have to return to nj empty handed.
@@mikefigures5075 Oh, that’s some bullshit. I lived in Northwest Indiana for a couple years and once, I took a ride to Chicago and the same thing happened I wasn’t able to pick anybody up from Illinois.
@BlakeDrives if you switch cities to Chicago you will be able to drive in Chicago as well as in your home state still

Good Videos, your should mix is t up a bit and do some food deliveries. Lol
Thanks David! Okay, maybe I'll try that soon. Which app is the best?
Dude, Uber pays around 20% more then Lyft

@@BlakeDrives I had it turned on and it didn’t help. Uber Tech support said it’s a known issue that they are working on. 🤷🏻♂️
I've never actually used Uber's before, but the Lyft one works well.
🎉 Good 👍
Does that amount that comes up include tips? I only deliver food so this is interesting.

Yeah just to be safe I did tell my insurance company and it is a little bit more expensive.
Does this include taxes as well in the running total? 🤔
This the mileage write-off and other expenses taxes come out to zero.
@@BlakeDrives Oh nice, thats awesome man. It seems like Uber for Vegas has rebounded from the pandemic lockdowns. Congrats! Keep up the good work.
@@calisurfin Thank you! Yeah, it seems to be growing like crazy. Hopefully, there's not another lockdown. I've only been here for a year though.
Nobody ever subtracts taxes from this huh 🤔 maybe y’all should start doing that
Please explain. if I order a $4 ride and I tip five dollars, is that just as good as a $16 ride with the same $5 tip?
I’m not suggesting it’s the best way to go about it. It’s just what I prefer. You’re correct though it would be the same assuming that people actually tip.
From the math, its almost not worth it after minus all other overheads...
Yeah it doesn’t make sense for everybody. The key factors for me right now is the flexibility and the ability to make videos. 👍
I'm considering it here in central CA too...been going back and fourth about the whole thing. If I get your #s, I'm worst off because of CA tax hmmm...
i heard vegas guys can make like 13K amonth
You might be able to do it with a luxury rides. With UberX I haven't had a ride over $30.
That’s not happing with out a 80K Escalade.
i did 9000 rides on lyft and 14000 on uber
Holy crap dude! You're a veteran, thank you for your service lol 😂
How many car accidents did you get into?
I actually had a tiny rear bumper tap back in February, luckily there wasn't any damage.
Don’t waste time on eats
Hybrids save on the gas now pay for the exspensive hybrid battery makes no sense to own one
Well they have a 10-year/150,000 mile warranty on them, so I should be good for a while.
You fools, all of you. This is being funded by ESG, the message is more important than the money.
If u make less than a $1 per mile
It's just not worth it
Yeah you might be right.
