The issue isn't of its legality, the issue is that when you don't watch the ads the channel you are watching doesn't receive revenue from the ads so you aren't supporting them to make more content for your enjoyment.

That;s like saying TBS or FOX doesn't pay the tv shows because you can't click on it... I'd rather listen to the 5 seconds and it i can't skip I will reply to my messages on skype or something.
