Cool! Takes me back to when I worked fire/EMS dispatch in the 90s. Just bought a 21 year old HT 1000 in its original packaging, never used, on eBay. Never thought I'd ever find one.
@@QuikCall4623 I mean it is easy to get encoders but I am making my own and It is easy to make qcII but not qcI. If you know of a good way please tell me.
@@QuikCall4623 I am developing one in python, I used audacity to make the tones in this video but now that I am making software to do it I can't easily make two tones at once. I am considering making my own hardware encoder at this point, or even getting a Zetron model 25 encoder. EDIT: I'll post a video of more of these tones (the current tones to be encoded)
Rainbow_Dash_7x hey I was wondering you had Discord? Cause I would like to talk to you more about the Tones and other stuff 😂 I have lists of tones for at least 10 County’s between Pennsylvania and Maryland
@@charleswescott4342 I'm pretty sure all the HT1000s are, there are some other Jedi series radios that aren't though. Just make sure to get one that is a newer revision.
Yep, got this quite recently and it is one of my favorite radios, especially since I can program it and it has just about every kind of signalling known to man.
If i may say why put this kind of video on something like u tube as an update when someone like me is doing my best to update 3 of my radio's UHF if you don't mind but yet e bay along with these so called people looking to sell this kind of stuff then with out an update say thay are selling yet thay can go on to someone like e bay by up big time on this kind of radio and not give a jumping jacks rabbit hole that some else like me is also looking to by and yet all e bay can say is sorry we have nothing else left sorry but I don't agree and for me it's 👎👎💯 per cent

Sweet, pretty cool to have one still new. They're still solid radios to this day.
Nice video of fire tones one of my favorites
I have that same radio it’s missing a battery and an antenna but it was my dads when he worked on fire/ems. Super cool
Yeah these old Motorolas are quite neat and are built to survive anything, they are truly the best radios.
@@KJ7BZC I just wish I had a battery and charger for it. It would be cool to have it working again
@@wyattlambe7167 eBay!
You can find them on eBay, or if you want new they are available on Amazon.
Love the Quik Call 1 tone at 1:00!!!
So do I, they are not easy to generate though. Which is why I only encoded one of them.
Rainbow_Dash_7x it’s easier than you think if you need me to generate tones for you I can get them to you

Rainbow_Dash_7x what Encoder are you using and my recommendation is Audacity

0:06 This is the tone for my current dept.
Hey sorry, to bother you, you should do a chain of Quik Call (1) Tones, that would be pretty nostalgic to hear 😂
No worries, I'll try to do that and I'll get the radio to alert to it as well. any specific calls you want?
Rainbow_Dash_7x nah just do a compilation of tones using the A-Series and use the PK Group of tones so

@@QuikCall4623 Alright, I'll probably do the ones you suggested in the other comment.

No, it cannot
One tone is Barneveld ny fire department
What’s are the name of the 2 old tones at 1:00-1:03
Motorola Quik Call 1, or just Quik Call. They are sometimes called "2+2" tones as well.
I got 2 of them for free from a hamfest with 3 batteries and no charger or programming cable.
Cool!
U on VHF or UHF?
This one's VHF.
@@KJ7BZC ok10-4 thanks is it narrow band compliant? , Because I may get one as my personal fire Radio for the department I'm on
