The painful pink miss by Zhang to equalize at 7-7 is a mental setback for him. This gives a boost to Allen. Credits to both.
That almost seems like a set up. You will pull the white ball behind the black with those shots or play it hard.

Then this match has made me never want to watch it again
I swear to God i knew he would lose in the final, beating Mark Selby just to lose in the final. Imagine if Selby was there instead, it would be classic match

As in all sports, there are fans who would support their players despite the entertainment value, they just want the win above all else, Mark has accepted that winning trophies is what he is focussing on at this period and the most effective method happens to be dull to most who aren’t his dedicated fans, he is obviously not the only pro to adopt this painfully slow ultra safe style but snooker needs some characters that put bums on seats, we all recall how snooker took off with Alex, Jimi, Ronnie and Trump, and we will see the demise of the game on tv unless more players take risks. Is professional sport meant to entertain ? I for one hope so.

It was very unfair that mark had two days rest compared to Zhang's less than 20 hours. He looked very tired and drained.

Grim, turgid snooker. I know players do what they can to win but that was beyond painful to watch. Eddie Charlton would probably have approved of this.

No. Zhang is the family name which is said first. Although most people are not pronouncing it correctly. Understandably awkward for people not familiar with madarin. But quick youtube search shows easy demonstrations.

I agree, Zhang is a good player but he is so boring to watch, hes like Ebdon and selby rolled into one 😴
Not really very good to watch in fact boring at times certainly one for the purists without O Sullivan or Trump or one or two other flair players in the final people will switch off
Quite simply the most boring match that I’ve seen. Zhang slower than Terry Griffiths. Allen Pretends to compete with the likes of Ronnie - not even close!
