These artists are truly amazing. I love outsider art and I feel honored to get a glimpse into the lives of these people who have gone thru so much and are wise beyond their years and personal hardships. ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
@@kikeheebchinkjigaboo6631 I dont think merely acknowledging the hardships these artists have gone through is romanticizing at all, it is common knowledge that the best creative minds are often the most troubled, it is good to take that information for what it is and not discredit how someones personal experiences and mental health influence their work. Instead it is good for those who suffer any mental condition to have a healthy creative outlet, whether the wider population get to see it or not.
These artists are wonderful, intense and inspiring people exploring worlds for the most part denied to the rest of us. However, most of the other people offering their analyses in this film are infuriating and unnecessary and I wish they had not been included.
If it wasn't for those specialists that seem infuriating to you, most of these wonderful artists would have never reached the appreciative audiences that enjoy and admire their work. Those "infuriating and unnecessary" people have worked their asses off to create an appropriate space for all this beautiful work to develop, so someone like you can have comfortable access to it.
I had the pleasure of meeting Royal in the spring of 1993. The piece he gifted me is one of my favorite pieces because he selected it for me.

This was fascinating, but I'm sorry it was cut short in one artist's mid-sentence.
