For those of us of a certain age, watching the Orion splashdown in the Pacific, after descending under the trinity of parachutes, was decidedly nostalgia invoking. The last time I saw such I was 11 years old.
Definitely! For everyone who is old enough to have seen the last time we were on the moon and those that were not, it was incredible. One of my family members who watched it with me said it reminded him of staying up late at night watching Story working on hubble. It was absolutely awe-inspiring, everyone who has worked so hard to get us back to this point are incredible.

Arizona still has a sizable base of moderates that voted for Sinema, which is a small hindrance. While further polarization of both parties is a double edged sword, seeing how over 50% of republicans and even independents disapproving of her tenure shows that her days in the Senate are numbered. She cleverly switched to independent to avoid a Democratic primary that she would most definitely lose to a popular progressive candidate. Here’s hoping she doesn’t split the vote too much to hand the seat to a Republican.

I've been assuming that she's just decided to do one term in the Senate and that she has plans for something else once the six years are up, but then again, one should never underestimate the hubris of something like this.

I would not be surprised if the average smart congressman leaves the job with at least half a dozen 'employment' positions that are little better than retirement packages requiring zero on site working hours per year, and likely a nice healthy stock offering to boot for many of them.

What’s funny to me is that they don’t realize that the reason they know these things is because they were looking. Citizen. Well, these lunatics are similar to yours. But they are a small minority, in my view they are very powerless (especially compared to the US und rightwing). Of course there are dangerous individuals and groups but they are as far away as it gets from overthrowing democracy. I think the US Problem is way more dangerous and complicated (and all the weaponry your nuts got… bruv)

And in other news, Lauren Boebert officially got re-elected today, as the automatic recount in her district was just finished. I’m so pissed that she won by only about 500 votes. But on the other hand, she was expected to win easily so this could be a bad sign for her in 2024 if she doesn’t change her ways over the next two years
She's in one of the conservative districts in the nation, and she lost her own county, both times. She'll be gone before long.
