Though I really enjoyed watching Tomo as Takumi the later movies with Mao are more heartfelt and true to the character. The chemistry between Dai and Mao was beyond amazing. Tomo and Kato were missing that extra intensity that was brought later on. Switching actors was a good choice to make the series better than it already was... Love to all the actors...
As much as I like the Mao Dai duo, I think the Takumi from the first series reflects much more the innocence and naivety of the character. Obviously it's a matter of personal taste, I love new actors equally, but the first Takumi for me was like the first love ... you never forget :-)
While Moa and Dai do a good job, there is a sweetness to the first pair that just wasn't duplicated in movies 2 -5. An innocence that just didn't exist in the later movies.
actually, as per review, Mao was the one who portrayed the right amount of innocence the character needs. But yeah, compared to the others, this one is the most pure in terms of the scenes. However, this is a yaoi movie, we only see pure forms on shounen ai, which this can't also be categorized as one either.

maybe, in renai shindan Tomo played a gay but he didn't do bed scene either, otherwise, another reason is the producer changed the director so the new director want to try a whole new thing. It's kind of regret because Tomo-Kato is one of the cutest pair in Japanese BL, but the kissing and bed scenes are too pure for BL fan girls =)
