Asit Rai is a renowned author in the hill district of Bengal and his several thousand readers are from the scores of tribes that live in Darjeeling. His book Naye Kshitij ki Khoj, won the Sahitya Akademi Award in 1984, is a fictionalized history of Nepali settlement in India.

Asit Rai the veteran and popular writer is no longer with us. He passed away last year in 2019.
We would love his film to be screened in schools and colleges and amongst communities.
