Very nice! I've never played this game, but it reminds me of Kung-Fu on the NES. This game seems ridiculously short even by NES game standards! It seems like in many old beat-em-ups kicks or jump kicks were the way to go for giving you an easier time. That knowledge about only having two enemies spawn on-screen at a time is more powerful than any karate technique! 😅 *Fun Fact:* Ryukahr-san actually trained Kim Sun-Yung, leader of Cobra Kai. After his training, he practiced in seclusion to hone his skills in both the martial arts and classic video games. There’s some NES games I didn’t play for the first time until adulthood. Karate Kid included. I didn’t find it particularly difficult, and for LJN, not that terrible.
This game was super easy. Especially the "Karate Kid Part 2" stage (the one with the Huricane and saving the girl in the tower). If I remember correctly, you can avoid the swinging hammer by pressing the controller at any point during the downswing. And in the Catching Flies With Chopsticks scene that you missed, the flight pattern of the flies is the same every time, so if you can remember your controller movements the first time you catch them all, you can repeat the same movements and catch them all every time. Just keep rapidly pressing the button the whole time. I didn't know this had the reputation of being a difficult game. My friends and I rented it one night and beat it pretty quickly.
