- Rare footage of the May 1st, 1980 international Workers Day Parade on Karl Marx Allee in East Berlin.
The Combat Groups of the Working Class, known as the "Kampfgruppen der Arbeiterklasse" in the German Democratic Republic, were a paramilitary organization that consisted of average day GDR citizens who were ready to fight if war broke out.

The ruling class in East Germany was never the workers, but rather the Communist Party of the Soviet Union.
The Nomenklatura was the bourgeoise in another name.
Before it was the russian military and not the workers. Ukraine is also trying to get out of that deal.

The Internationale was composed by a Belgian/French socialist, Pierre Chrétien De Geyter, in 1888 to commemorate the working class people of Lille in France. It was adopted by the Second International Congress of Socialists in Paris 1889. Yes, it was, for a while, used by the Soviets as their national anthem.

Gotta love those caps, great look. Funnily enough the caps go really well with a 90s flecktarn parka, matches the hood. Makes you wonder if the fabrics and such were used by a united bundeswehr
Yes the Caps are really nice and they're really good in the winter I own a set of East German camouflage uniform the same one that's in the video at Blends in quite well to where I live and I also own eight East German border troops NCO dress uniform I will say the dress uniforms are very uncomfortable they're made out of wool only really bad thing about it is if you have to raise your arms up it's really hard if you have the belt on and also the shoulder boards are stiffened with cardboard so yeah that's even worse

Even footage from socialist countries is not free anymore. The merger of the FRG with the GDR caused a huge wave privatization of state owned organizations and enterprises.
