    Would love to see an attack system that comes with this kind of movement. Similar to Runescape, an auto combat that starts when clicking the enemies. Thanks for all your content, big fan!

    AWESOME TUTOTIAL, now i would love to see a little more complex version of it like a click and point where if you point to a "object in game" appear a radial menu and you have options to interact with it like, "pick up", look at and others possibilties, then you choose one option he will move to the object then do the "interaction(if possible with animation). like many point and click or simulation games like the sims.
    also if possible the same with npcs, like a npc around you click on it then a menu with interactions appear and based on your choice the player move to the npc, then npc stop what it is making and interact with you.

    There is a LOT of REALLY useful information in this video. Thank you!
    But... the pacing is horrible. Its like trying to read a newspaper as the person holding it is running for his life. Try to slow down a little and explain a bit more what each function and option does, and why they are needed. Or put some text on the screen with explanations. That would make this video 10 times better.

      that would also turn a quick tutorial video into a 38 minutes long theory course which is obviously not the nature of this content

    • @justinpiante2406
      @justinpiante2406 20 дней назад

      @@dorael_ It already requires you to sit through a 38 minute video because you have to keep rewinding to see what exactly he did.

    I was hoping to add root motion movement to this, does anyone have some ideas on how to do so?
    I have followed other tutorials on doing so but this setup doesn't use an add movement input node so i'm not entirely sure how to integrate it.

    I saw a person describe a line trace, by taking a real life light pointer out, and the beam hit the wall, and said that's how a line trace worked.

    Hi, Thank you for a Video. Sorry, but I cannot get the "Line Trace" blueprint to properly provide the "Simple Move to Location". Generally, it is working fine; the character is walking as expected.
    However, at some angles (close to horizontal) to the objects, it doesn't work, and the character doesn't move.

    Thanks for the video. Is there any chance you will make a video about being able to create a visible area behind an object? Like if you positioned a character in this top down setup and being able to control him even if he's behind a wall, just like the Sims. Thank you again and keep up the good work!

    Hi thank you for this. Can you help me with a query... I wanted the character to complete the cycle of its walk before it switches to the other path if there are 2 places clicked simultaneously . I also wanted to add a short vector based motion graphics to denote where the character is moving. It would be great if you can answer my query or refer me something. Once again thank you.

  • @CT-td9mt

    Doesnt work for me. Followed exactly, but the character is unresponsive. It is set to the default pawn and spawns properly, hit traces are correct, nav mesh covers entire area, but the character does not move.

      I found my issue. It was at "Convert Mouse Position to World Space" -> "World Direction" -> "**Multiply**" (I had this step as addition). Once change to Multiply it worked perfectly.

      @@lonm876 it was a while ago now so I can't remember the details. Whatever the step is that sets the "Convert Mouse Position to World Space" -> "World Direction" I had it as something like "A + B", it should be "A * B".
