So many people have said it, but I'll say it again. Anna Pavlova really was the most magical gymnast to watch. Also it sucks that Gainers seem to have fallen out of style... Hardly ever see them and never to Khorkina's standard. Thanks for uploading, this was awesome to watch.
It is actually aluminium wrapped in a suede-like covering, which gives a bit more spring the old wooden beams, but nowhere near as much as the floor. The FIG was actually considering putting springs in the ends for dismounts at one point but they decided not to.
0:14 is a double turn with leg at horizontal which is an E (can't check the number right now) 0:45 is a Double Arabian (or Patterson) which is a G 3:00 is a Switch Split Ring Leap which is an E
love 1.36 was one of the best beam workers ever...Olessia Doudnik of Russia. Beautiful gymnastics. Only really Krasnianskaya and Liukin really match it now. ;O)
Wow, this brought back some memories!! How about little Meng Fei?? I've always thought her barani on beam was beautiful. It's a shame she never made it to the Olympics, I think she could have done well there. I've always been a fan of hers while she was competing.
What?? Several Simple Arabian videos on Beam, and NONE with the creator of this skill, the amazing Ekaterina Lobaznyouk? But still is a awesome video, congrats.
Wait, if this uses the 2009 code of points, wasn't the triple turn in tuckstand ( Mitchell) and the Wevers (double turn with leg at horizantal) added into the code of points in 2010?
that switch ring leap (or whatever its called) by Nastia Liukin is nowhere near as good as Anna Pavlova's......Pavlovas head literally touches her toes!
Anna Pavlova's switch ring leap has to be the best ever performed on beam. Amazing!
Anna pavlova's switch split ring leap is simply perfection. its so amazing. definitely better than nastia's..!

I know that this is all about gymnastics' difficulty on beam, but I must say that this is a great montage. with great music as well!!! CONGRATULATIONS
When the Patterson is done right, it's such a beautiful skill!
Glad you liked it! Its Petra Matthies at the 2006 Junior US Nationals, she goes to the same gym as alicia sacramone.
fantastic video

It's Lift Me Up by Moby
Thank you! It was Daria Bijak at the 2002 Worlds
Thank you so much for this montage =) I love it. Great job!!!!!!
aaww, i miss the awsome beam mounts, no one dose them anymore, they mostly just hop on and get all their difficulty once their on the beam
It is already in the code and it is a D, same as the regular Onodi. Verona Van Der Leur performed this move at the 2005 and 2006 Worlds.
It was a triple spin yes, by Betty Okino at the 1991 worlds
Ooo, love the double arabian dismounts!
It is Lift Me Up by Moby
It was Aleftina Priakhina at the 1986 Chunichi Cup
@altairvrak It is Yulia Lozhecko of Russia at the 2007 Worlds

Os melhores ME de trave são das chinesas, imbatíveis 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Great Choice of song!

Do you have the vid of Daria Bijak at the 2002 worlds, the beam excercise I mean, the dismount is great!!!!
Love how the music fit the exercises!
Yes, please!!!!
@michelelohman - and Karpenko performed it in 1997 so certainly wasnt a case of it never being seen before 1999/2000.....
Oh wow, that's interesting :D
Thanks so much for your help ^^
It is Sanne Wevers of the Netherlands
@fgymnastm12 Well, this was uploaded two months after the 2008 olympics, when she was still a junior, I think..

It's Annamari Maaranen from Finland starting at 0:58.
Yes, that was Chellsie Memmel doing one.
lovedddd
Those aerial roundoff's (2:00) are D's, same as an aerial cartwheel... landing on one or two feet doesn't affect difficulty, only takeoff does.
thanks alot ! :)
It was Deng Linlin of China
Oh ok, thanks. I can't believe it's not an E!
What?? Several Simple Arabian videos on Beam, and NONE with the creator of this skill, the amazing Ekaterina Lobaznyouk?
But still is a awesome video, congrats.
it looked like a tucked full-in (same as shawn johnson)
the one that Shaposhnikova did, where she leaned on the beam as her mount? what's the rating on that? :D i always liked that mount.
Thnx. Is she still in elite gymnastics? I was just saying she looked liike my friends Christina, but Christina does low-level compulsory. Thnx anyway!
I think that without doubts the most difficult skill on the beam is the TEZA 1.
Great montage and song!
Oooo does anyone know who the gymnast at 0:52 is? She has a v similar leotard to one of mine! :-)
Wait, if this uses the 2009 code of points, wasn't the triple turn in tuckstand ( Mitchell) and the Wevers (double turn with leg at horizantal) added into the code of points in 2010?
@dianajc they are both valued as D level skills
Thank you :)
Do you also know what competition that was?^^
2:10 What was Elena's dismount?
@Leemazing12345 Um.
...
Have you by chance checked the title?
It is a D (0.4)
Does the code of points change every year or just every quadrennium?
what's this song called i like it a lot
Moby- Lift me up
after the olympics the COP changes so the next change is in 2013
Shawn Johnson, ftw.
I don't, sorry. But I do know that the skill is named after her (jump with half turn, to tucked salto backwards).
can u list how much each letter is worth? like D= 0.4 (like u said above)
No Kui Yuanyuan ?
who is the girl at 1.48 doing the double front?
Its a switch split ring leap
were did you get the videos of the olympics 2008?

Was that a barani (sp?) at 1:20?
@MrJST94
Elvire Teza, France :D

What's the TEZA 1?
that switch ring leap (or whatever its called) by Nastia Liukin is nowhere near as good as Anna Pavlova's......Pavlovas head literally touches her toes!

Who is that kid doing Double Front at 1:49?
Who is the gymnast at 1:49?
No she didn't forget it...
Hypolito's mount was a COMBINATION mount... not just one skill:)

the girl in 1.29 is amazinggggg...
did anyone notice that gabrielpaerade10 stole the first part of this montage and used it in her balance beam incredible montage
Annamari Maaranen (Finland).
How about a one-handed Onodi...that must be an E. Charlotte Mackie from Canada performed this at the recent World Championships.
who's at 1:34 ?
Its Aleftina Priahkina from the USSR
The skill at 1:28...
Join a gymnastics club and pray you have talent.
I would take Liukin out of the equation.
I just got 2:02 on FLOOR a few days ago, lol i am in such a low level. 1:50 looks like my friend Christina, but she isn't that high of a level
Who's gymnast at 2.28?:)
i think it's oana ban
