When the first mom started laughing at her daughter in the first dress, I was shocked. Honesty is one thing, blunt rudeness is completely different. I imagine the bride and her husband are generally LC with her mom.
I got married 45 years ago (our 45th anniversary was back in April). When I bought my wedding dress, I went shopping alone and I didn't tell anyone I was going. I knew what suited me and knew what I wanted. I bought my own dress, so it there was no one else's preferences to take into consideration. 45 years on, I look at those wedding photos and I am still pleased with the choice I made. I think some brides would have a happier experience if they bought their own dress and went shopping alone.
The first Mom said that "we made history" . What did she do? Criticize the dress? Say it didn't do anything for her daughter's body? The veil and the support from the staff are what made this bride happy. Mom knocks her down and tries to take the credit --- no way!
Could be wrong, but I believe she was referring to the tearful moment her daughter in finding the dress. Once and a lifetime moment and she was present for it-made history.
Real people/ your own people should always tell the truth to your face. Not like the so called business people who can lie through their breath to sell anything to anyone..Dress didn't look good on her, and her mom was totally right to say that to her daughter.

First mother of the bride, was rude , disrespectful. A awful way to treat your daughter and her husband. 💔 The second bride, looked beautiful. Hope she has a very happy marriage ❤
Exactly. And we know for certain that they've watched episodes and understand that a veil and other adornments will be added - so I find it puzzling that they dislike a dress and then suddenly fall in love with it. Seems like they just want to create drama. 🤷
My favorite part of the episode is when they add the essential touches of elegance and the veil.. Two beautiful different stories two beautiful princess brides💞
I love the first bride's confidence!! She did look beautiful, great taste the dress was stunning. Mom was strong, but I did not think disrespectful as others have said here. 2nd bride was sweet, didn't love her dress but who cares what I think lol.
I didn’t find her disrespectful either, just outspoken, which is jarring for some people. She was very proud of daughter, grateful to be there with her, and happy to see her get what she really wanted.
Bride #1's mother was definitely disrespectful by overriding the bride's preferences while shopping, then cackling when she modeled the first gown, then ignoring & overriding the bride's "I want it, absolutely" re dress #3.
I don’t even understand why did she bring her evil mother? Bride and husband are paying for the dress and mother keeps being mean and disrespectful to both of them.
A check for Nature vs Nurture. People say being Sensitive is because you were sheltered, coddled, or spoiled. The first bride wasn’t raised with any of that and she still turned out sensitive. Poor bride. Her mom was nasty.
That second Bride looked exactly like a younger version of the greyheaired Aunty? Second to the left of the Lady who spoke. They both would knock that gown out of the ballpark. Nice to see something different, but suited to the individual. Hope both Brides have a lovely day and Marriage!
I'd never spend that much on a dress in the first place, but I don't see why it matters that they're already married? 7,000 is 7,000, whether she spends it before or after they've signed a piece of paper doesn't matter. From what I gathered they didn't have a big ceremony before, so they're doing it now.
I was wondering where that castle was located. The castle is so beautiful and majestic. Thank you so much for sharing your information. MUCH❤LOVE from Northern California U.S.A.🇺🇲
I did the same thing. We got married, having our wedding on the anniversary. It may not be super traditional, but it works for us, and we're still excited about throwing basically a party with people who couldn't make it the first time around :)
The first mom wasnt being mean. Just blunt and sarcastic. She didnt stop her daughter from getting the dress she wanted either. Bride teared up and her mom approved
I am Cuban, so I feel this woman's pain with regards to her mother's "bluntness". In the Cuban culture, they don't believe in edit buttons, nor do they believe anything they say NEEDS to be edited.
“My mother’s blunt.” I had to listen to that several times, I thought at first she was saying a different word (it rhymes with “blunt”), but I was sure they wouldn’t allow that particular word on this show…
OK. Lots to be said about the mother of the first bride but after watching Jo and Al do their thing, Lori's bridal options for plus size women are just blah... 😏 With a $7000 budget Jibril deserved way better. That said, I'm happy she's happy with what she chose and will make a stunning bride 👰
I'm all for saying what you think but being aware of others feelings. First brides Mother is fun but would be more likeable if she could smooth the sharp edges 😊 The bride looked beautiful ❤
my Mother made my gown for $25.00 , I still have it 52 years later and am still married with A quick Church wedding with 25 people invite! My in_laws did put on the wedding dance and Party later! We slipped out of it right away though! We had other plans! One overnight stay and he had to be back to work! Who needs to spend all that money on fancy?
Exxxactly… she is like the friend that will randomly throw mean jabs at you that make u cock your head to the side like… do you like me? Or you jsut want to have your nails dug in my life?
Re. the thumbnail: that's a slip. It's the garment that you wear UNDER the dress. For those who insist on that style, they would be wise to wear an opaque corset, corselet or strapless camisole/bandeau camisole that matches the fabric or lace of the dress underneath it. The second one was really pretty.

Ironic considering I'm low-to no contact with my siblings.

@llc1976 Absolutely. I know they edit these things for dramatic effect, but this was beyond any amusing drama.
First bride was sensible getting married without the mother's input the first time. Good self defense move.

What a sweet bride , I hope she doesn’t take on her Mum’s bluntness, she’s lovely and a princess in the true sense
It is ok to be blunt to some extent but you have to know your limit. Once you become rude then that is it.
Why ? Rather her be little and submissive ?
I popped into the comments to say the same thing about this young woman: What a sweet bride! I hope her heart stays so lovely all her days.
She most likely won’t be blunt. She said that she’s sensitive, so she’s away how her behavior affects others.

I shopped alone as well, loved the one I picked, I knew it looked good on me, and I've never had any regrets!
Her mother has the laugh of a Disney villain.
The first Mom made me cringe: she was awful to her daughter & son in law. Such a rude & disrespectful person. The next bride looked lovely.
I think the mom wanted to be the star of the video. I think the bride should have stuck up for her husband.
First mother of the bride, was rude , disrespectful. A awful way to treat your daughter and her husband. 💔

I would tell her to leave.
Extremely rude! And with what she was wearing, she has no room to call anything ugly.
I'm sorry, the mom is cracking me up lmaooooooooooo
The Momma could be on Tyler Perry's shows
The first mom isn't laughing, she's cackling like an evil queen instead of the princess' mother.
I love the mom's take no prisoners attitude
My goodness that laugh of the mother… had me in creases. She could defo be an actor and be dam good at it. I love her she’s funny as hell 😂
That laugh was classic 😂
The mom can’t leave sarcasm alone for a half of second. It seems she’s masking some pain ❤
That was my thought exactly! Somebody hurt this woman and it stuck. So sad.
Mom is a perfect example of "Hurt people, hurt people"
I thinks she is Hurt that the daughter already got married
..
Second bride: I never understand why someone would tell a bride they don’t like the dress after the bride has said it’s a 10.

None of those dropped waist dresses flattered Jibrell's figure.
I was hoping she would’ve tried at least one high waist. Just to see the difference. Or even a mermaid. But a high waist would’ve been regal on her.
Something with a corset would’ve made the fit perfect for her. I’m surprised they didn’t show her one
Honestly they didn’t
