When Yahweh asks Abraham to kill his own son, that he gave him, in a test of Abrahams Faith and loyalty is one of more horrifying stories in the bible. I cannot get over this concept. That a God would ask anyone to be so loyal to him that he would ask someone to kill their own child. This is like a father having a son and when that son has a child of his own, the father asking for his son to kill his grandchild to demonstrate the love the son has for the father. That is a sick and depraved way of even thinking. TBH.

It is a horrifying story, but God never intended for Abraham to actually kill Isaac. Hebrews 11 tells us though, that even if Abraham did kill Isaac, Abraham believed God would raise him from the dead because Abraham knew that God was faithful to the promise He gave him that Isaac would be a great nation. The passage is also an amazing foreshadowing of Jesus dying for the sins of the world on the very mountain that Abraham took Isaac. I did an entire sermon on this and you can check it out here -> ruclips.net/user/liveAwuKxc3LXDU?si=YJgylNnqNxSvqkg0

@@jesusinfive Did God test Abraham's loyalty by telling him to kill his own son? YES, OR NO? Why in the world would he even do such a thing, if he already knew what would happen? HELLO ! It'S a STORY & it's all good. Thank goodness that part of the story is not REAL. 😁😁
There are many times in the bible where God tells people to kill other people, you know this, right? Only a sick and depraved being would ask someone to kill their own child as a sign of loyalty. Its ok, after all he does some really good things also, right? That one is a real doozy and particularly despicable though.
