I still feel it will be a mistake to move horses to JL bc of what happened to voo. those males will still break out and try to get her. How are you guys going to manage that issue?
It's so good to see Roman. This animal had been worked hard his whole life. They don't show much love to their animals. They are considered a work tool like a tractor. Show him love and he will love you more than you know is possible.
I'd say it's scars from being worked, if he came from a Amish auction, he was definitely a work horse, which is probably why his tail is trimmed, so it won't get wrapped up when pulling massive loads, newfoundlanders also worked horses back in the day
Lester you may not know but horses can sense your heartbeat. So when you are around him, take a deep breath and relax. Every time you get anxious just breath. As you are around him more you will start to feel more comfortable.
I love this horse. This type of horse has the best temperament. Usually extremely gentle. The Amish usually work this type of horse very hard behind a plow.I am sure that his early years were hard on him. I am so glad you received him. He will be a blessing. Rita should love him.
Draft horse for sure 😁 and a Gentle giant! ❤ Thank you Jamie and Lester for the awesome love and care you give to all your babies. This big boy has just landed in animal heaven on earth. ❤❤
He is such a beautiful horse and he loves people. He’s used to the Amish making him work hard now he doesn’t know how to act because he’s retired and he’s getting a lot of love that he never used to get so he follows you around. He is a very happy horse and he is so beautiful.
Lester I live in Amish country In Pennsylvania and I get to see these beautiful horses on the daily! I am so happy I get to watch his journey with you he is gorgeous!!
I'm right there with you. For 68 years, I've seen these beautiful horses, strong, handsome, hardworking, some worked to death as you can tell by his feet.. The Amish are about hard work, little play, and their old German religion. Thank you, Lester, for adopting him. Please take care of this guy. He only wants to eat and sleep his final years away. My heart breaks for Rita. I'm crying for her right now. She is once again being moved further away from her herd.
I actually don't recall Amish buggies when in PA as was on Grandparrnt's old farm already turned into homes in 1970s. I googled it. Now it's filling in up to the hill way over. That land behind fence had been solid land only. Wassons. But I did have some of the food passed down I haven't cooked for awhile.
Wow Lester you really have kept Roman a secret. He's beautiful and a very big surprise. He is in the best place to enjoy his golden years. Thank God that you are able to care for him❤❤❤
i have too. Theyre usually bought from auction in very poor state. The Amish use these beautiful horses on their farms but theyre not the nicest at all to them. Such a shame.😢
He is stunning…you’ve always said you are not a horse person…don’t look now, but your excitement is proving you are becoming that horse person…I hope it feels as good as it looks…😉
Hi Roman! I'm so happy you rescued him, Lester and Jamie . His poor feet need help, but i know you will help him you do with all your animals. All animals are sacred and should be treasured and loved. ❤❤❤ Thank you for having a big heart for these gentle giants.
What a surprise 🐴 So glad Roman has found a forever home. He is sooooo Handsome. Rita's Surprise hope she will not be jealous over him. Can't wait to see them meet From NC ❤
Lester and Jami I’m so happy that you got Roman. He’s beautiful. I had an 18 hand saddle bred growing up. He was my first horse, so we pretty much raised each other. Tony lived to be 32 years old. My grandfather had a set of Belgian horses to do some work on the farm. They were mostly used to plow fields that were too tall for the tractors that became weedy if rain set in before the tractors could plow them. The horses were highly prized and cared for. They both lived into their late 20’s. One I know was at least 28. I honestly think they lived longer due to the care, feed, and love they received. I do know that they need to be on the lighter side of weight so that it doesn’t affect their joints. I feel that with your twos love and care he will thrive and live a long healthy, happy life. ❤
They are a large breed, but very gentle! My mom had one when she was growing up and they always rode it bare back. They could go under and around and round and never got hurt. Even neighbor children would crawl all over it! I’m excited to watch y’all’s interactions with him! Congratulations on your new adventure! You will love him!♥️
Yes he's definitely a Belgium Draft horse and a beauty too. These horses are or l should say were used plowing, logging and other farm and ranch work. They are very docile and loving, it's like having a giant Teddy Bear. Lester they can live longer lives if they are properly taken care of which l know you and Jami will......
Lester, you really have a great helper on your ranch now. They are great workhorses that can pull heavy loads, plow etc. They enjoy it. He is AWESOME ❣🥰😍❣
Wow! He’s massive and very beautiful! 💕 Time to triple the snack budget 💕 I love how he’s looking back at you as if saying, “Hush it up, Lester!” 🤣 Wishing you all the best with him!
When you said he was from an Amish auction, my heart sank. Not because of the auction, but because that sect is not known for good care of their stock.
Lester - Roman actually looks to be on the smaller side for a draft horse. I've seen truly huge Belgium horses LOL. Their hooves were the size of dinner plates, the extra-large dinner plates. Their legs were bigger in diameter and much heavier than my entire body! Roman is a beautiful horse and of a size for riding too 👍💪🤗.
Nov, 27,2024. Thank you for indtroducking Roman to us, he is absolutley geourgeous. Roman is at a good forever home. Congatulation, I am so happy for all of you. Thank you for another awesome video.
If he was once an horse that belong to an Amish farm I know how big he is. Those horses are massive. So happy you were able to take him in. Welcome home Roman. Lester you are slowly turning into a horse person 😂. Which is a good thing. Can’t wait to hear his story. He is definitely a big !!!! Surprise. Be safe ❤😊❤.
Lester, you have taught me so much over the years. I know how to build a fence, change a hay spear on a John Deere tractor. So many more things too. Thank you.
I am in LOVE with yet another horse. Welcome home Roman, I had a horse that was just a regular horse about as tall as Roma named Thunder when I was a kid and he was about as wild as Rita ( I never broke him either but he did let me ride him bareback only), and he was my forever fav horse which is why I love Rita so much

Yes! Thank you! We can’t count our chickens til eggs hatch lol so thank you for understanding our reasoning behind the madness

Imagine If him and Prim had babies😭😭😭🙏🙏🙏incredible
Beautiful Belgium Draft horse, looks to be about 18 hands high. WOW his size makes Prim look small. Rita will be in love with him.
I think he is more than 18 hands ! Would love to know ❤
Poor guy has so many battle scars. He's beautiful and lucky to end up where he is. He'll be happy there. ❤

i have too. Theyre usually bought from auction in very poor state. The Amish use these beautiful horses on their farms but theyre not the nicest at all to them. Such a shame.😢
I have heard some horrible stories also. It’s heartbreaking
The Amish are so cruel to their animals, working horses until they drop, beating them and not caring for them as you can see from the scars.
Let his tail grow. What a beautiful horse. Majestic. The way he stands. ❤
Tail has been docked like a dog, it wont regrow. Not sure about the mane though.
