Sadly the high school aspect didn't really get focused on in the mcu movies, the closest we got was homecoming but that didn't feel high school focused, that was just the setting.
Raimi saying he was excited about the high school setting was also what I was excited about but honestly HC kinda disappointed me in that regard. None of Peter's friends were given any proper depth and his relations to them never really developed or changed. We never see Peter's friends or Teacher who favours him actually get angry that he ditched the decathalon in a strange city all on his own, heck we don't even see Ned make an excuse. The personal and social life seemed to matter so little in HC at times at that disappointed me considering that Peter Parker's life is basically a soap opera, I'm not saying his life has to be completely depressing but it needs to have actual character

He threw rocks at poor Tobey in the bank scene in Spider-Man 2.😂 Here's the difference between Jon Watts (MCU Spider-Man director) and Raimi, Watts let's the actor have freedom and have their own take on the character, which is good and bad. It's good because it makes the actor comfortable, it's bad because they could go out of character at times. Sam however wants things to go exactly how he envisioned it. Sometimes there two distinctive director approaches work, but most times its risky especially when you give actors freedom.

@@ledgaming6489 both Sam Raimi and Marc Webb were literally written death threats by audience members after the last installment of their movies. There's a difference between criticism to not like something (Harry throwing a knife and becoming New Goblin betrays the narrative in SM2; multiple complicated subplots which make the story hectic in TASM2; Peter giving EDITH to someone he knew for less than a week for stupid reasons in FFH; etc) and ballistic ones ("Tobey cries too much and doesn't quip enough;" "SM3 is too cringey;" "Andrew is too cool and acts like an angsty jerk sometimes;" "TASM2 has no redeeming qualities;" "Tom isn't responsible;" "Homecoming has no sense of consequences;" etc).
I acknowledge every movie (even Spider-Man 2, my favorite) has flaws but I'm not going to be erratic or go far against cast and crew members.

Sam Raimi loves making movies and he loves watching them, with all their flaws and imperfections. Geeks could learn a lot from him. The people hate on Zack Snyder AND the people who glorify him, the MCU haters and the people who only like the MCU, why not just like stuff and share the things we love with others while appreciating what they love instead of using opinions as a way to prove yourself as better than someone else or more worthy of the fandom? I like liking things
Some of it is maturity, some of it is wisdom, some of it is just staying far far away from social media and fandom.
Seriously though, I feel sorry for people whose self esteem relies on their ability to like the “right” type of art. I still ignore them though, at least in regards to films, because closed minds tend to be pretty boring.

I hear Sam Raimi was a bit of a control freak 😂. He's like the Quintein Tarantino of superhero movies. I heard he also throws things at actors when he's mad and frustrated, and don't do things his way. He threw rocks at poor Tobey in the bank scene in Spider-Man 2.😂 Here's the difference between Jon Watts (MCU Spider-Man director) and Raimi, Watts let's the actor have freedom and have their own take on the character, which is good and bad. It's good because it makes the actor comfortable, it's bad because they could go out of character at times. Sam however wants things to go exactly how he envisioned it. Sometimes there two distinctive director approaches work, but most times its risky especially when you give actors freedom.
