Pretty pleased with my j120 after two years ownership. Not really made her work, just the odd bit of towing. But as a road driver it’s a very nice ride with nearly 38mpg on motorway drives! It’s tough too
Thank you for the video. It would of be perfect if there were river crossings included with the classic scene where water covers the bonnet of each four wheel drive. And when each car reaches the other side you'd notice smoke fuming from the exhaust pipes with the kids cheering their champion river crossers.
Hi, nice video! i will like to know if the snorkel must be compatible with an specific motor type? i've been searching for a snorkel compatible with my friend's Prado 120 series in the US and all that i got is that snorkel compatible with GR-FE 4.0Litre-V6 and i don't know if that is compatible with a smaller Litre motor? Thanks and have a nice day!
That is you should disconnect the swaybars on the jeep. You look like you have the travel of an f1 or worse a hummer lol. Nice driving tho. Sports for everyone not just the big nasty rigs.
Hi guys, I'm between this two machines, thinking to buy one of this, a 2006 model, 3 litres diesel, and I have questions, Wich one is more likely to last longer? I plan to keep it wiht me for the next 10 or 15 years, I don't live by the sea or in a cold place. Wich one presents less problems of any kind (engine, mechanical, electrical)? How is the market to get autoparts (in case I need any)? Wich one is more fuel efficient? Wich one go faster?. Consider to respond that I am not a four wheeler. Help needed!
It's the stock exhaust. I've only gutted out the original Chrysler muffler and fitted a high flow Lukey one instead. Check out the difference here: ruclips.net/video/JTAXlmouNIo/видео.html
That's basically BONE stock Prado, I can't even tell if there is even any lift kit on it. Only BF KO's that are even the stock dimensions, an aftermarket front bumper, and a hitch, that's it! Bone stock!
1) I said I couldn't exactly tell about the lift! But it really looks the stock height judging by what mine looks. either way, 2" lift (im not sure if you are right here, but hey, if you say so) is nothing! 2) Mine comes with factory rear locker, so..... whats your point here? 3) Tires must be 265/70/17, stock tires are 265/65/17. That's pretty much EXACTLY the same size. I've used a couple of KO's before, they come in that size. 4) No, I don't eat jelly. How did you assume that? With all that said, that's pretty much a BONE STOCK Land Cruiser 120 Prado. Like it or not.
+Frank White Ok dude. You must have issues in comprehension, so let's pull out the "offended" card along with some assumptions and personal attacks by name calling etc. We know it's hard to deal with ego issues when something goes against one's opinion, but sometimes you gotta let go in order to have a fruitful conversation. You obviously made assertions, not questions, and comparing to "I" and "mine". We're only responding and reciprocating Let's start again, have another go, see how it goes, if we can have a civilised conversation... No Prado 120-series came to Australia with a factory locker, only a crappy Toyota LSD. I'm not sure if you're from here or not, 2" lift is maximum we can go as self-certified, so it's not NOTHING. 'Nothing' is what comes "bone stock." Same rule goes with tyres. You also stated "aftermarket bumper" (you sound like you're from North America, as we don't call it as such in Australia) where that's a factory option alloy bar, but you forgot to mention the "stock" winch, UHF, roof rack, awning and rock sliders. We only respond back in a similar manner. Conversation is a two-way street. Be nice and you'll get nice. BTW, thank you for following our channel. We're glad that you find them good enough to watch in your leisure time. Feel free to converse or ask questions, and let's be civil about it.

Well be hard to go past a VDJ200r ( twin turbo v8 diesel) with every gadgets and safety. There r so meany models of land cruisers. More then any other 4wd builder in the world. Troopys utes live Axel wagons. Now the new duel cab. Then all the 200s. Then u have Prados hiluxs. And the most trusted brand known for it reliably.. I now own 2 land cruisers after owning a jk 4door diesel auto. Had to sell the jeep before it ran out of warranty . It would have sent us broke.. its in 4wd action mag 187 .. the Toyotas have been really good. Let's say. Lived up 2 the name....
live loud don'y blame you for getting rid of the cheap jeep, anyone who really knows about vehicles will always buy a toyota over any american domestic
No any SUVs can beat Landcruiser coz of it's Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System (KDSS) Technology that maintains the balance of the suv into correct level and crawling option which get rid of being stuck in any situation. Coz of these technology Toyota have done great work.
Aussie Four Wheelers how so? 2018 4wd GC 3.0 L 8spd Turbo Diesel is 24mpg combined whereas 2018 5.8L 4wd 8spd is 15.25 (13/18). Or Jeep GC 4WD 3.6L Gas 8speed is 21 (18/25)
I'm talking about the comparison between the two in this video: Toyota Land Cruiser Prado 4cyl turbo diesel = 25 mpg Grand Cherokee V8 gasoline = 15 mpg
¡Como se ve que no has visto a esas máquinas rustiquear de verdad! El hecho de que la pongan en estos vídeos no quiere decir que no sean buenas y rustiqueen bien.
All this Prado worship I don't understand. Really overpriced and for no reason. Also one should note that the GC has front and rear LSD standard the Prado only has as rear plus you pay next to nothing for them they are way more offroad capable and aftermarket for them is huge. I'll be taking the Grand Cherokee over the Prado any day of the week
@@jptv8738 that reputation is unfounded I don't understand where it comes from actually. Only a select few variants are unreliable and that's mostly the cross overs and diesel motors. That 5.7 is bullet proof as well as the 3.6. They have been used for years. Tried and proven I really fail to see where it comes from
I’ve got a Toyota landcruiser and my Missus Dad has a jeep. I had to tow the jeep into a local repair centre last night and my landcruiser is a 2004 j120 lol

Did that Prado have any lockers? Or was it’s just stock with the LSD?
And the prado on A/T's looked more capable, what a surprise lol
Guys, this is not the off-road test. Real test is when both vehicles are stuck and the winner is the one is further.

Super video! Super off road cars! Thank You!
Thank you 👍 Glad you liked it.
What’s the bulbar on the Prado?
Can you compressed betwen land cruiser and prado 90's??
Was running 20PSI then.
What lifts on both cars?
Hemi sounds awesome.
Thanks mate!
Both cars have a 2" lift.
Great video, and long life Land Cruiser and Jeep!!! ;) :)
Did you have the cent.diff locked on the Prado the whole time mate?
Rhe bullbar its so beautifull.
Down hill the whole way?
I see the toyota just about had full air too.
That's was awesome good stuff
Thanks, glad you liked it.
Love the diesel engine sound in the toyota

4L V6 is the petrol one, and 3L 4 cyl is the diesel one. you need to get a snorkel specific to each engine and fuel type
Thanks and have a nice day!
What mods do u have on 120 prado suspension?
Everybody seems to want the Toyota to be better but really it's not. Just more money
ikr but jeeps r shit lol
I agree, toyotas are over priced but Jeeps have a bad name for their unreliability
the tires on that jeep though!
what's the brand of the bull bar on the front of the jeep?
It's just a stock nudge bar option from Jeep Australia.
that looks like hell fun.love it when I get to take my truck off road
Offroad is always fun 😊
The Prado has a little bit more wheel travel, almost made it look easy. Although both cars are very decent off roaders. Now I want to get out there!

Aussie Four Wheelers The Jeep Grand Cherokee 3.0 crd vs Land Cruiser Prado 3.0 td. For domestical pourpose, not off road.
+Parloid Sorcus I'd go the WH CRD for pulling power, acceleration and fuel economy. But I'd go Prado for room and aftermarket accessories.
Why the music?
Sorry. Here's the same vid without music: ruclips.net/video/vq_e2BCV6e4/видео.html
Toyota 120 series excellent family suv
That's a good comparison, similar vehicles, but the yank car is more powerful, wouldn't know which to choose, maybe the V8 hahaha
I guess it's a Stock Prado (2" Lifted), so 3.0L inline 4 Diesel engine.
Nice tyre bagging from 1:24-1:30.
