It was the most 50/50 one for me, but I don't think it gets enough credit, it wouldve been #1 or 2 strength wise out of the creatures I listed if I didn't factor in the underrated stuff
I'd have the Megalania on my list along with the Pachyrhinosaurus. The Megalania for the ease of traversing caves and getting artifacts. Just go heads-up mode and walk upsidedown on the ceiling. The Pachy for being basically a Trike, but with the added ability of going completely pasifict-mode and not aggro anything. Tamed one out of pure coincidence in the bog on Genesis part 1 and it made the early game a breeze. You also forgot to mention that the Iguanodon has almost infinite stamina while running quad.
@@stian56 I strongly considered the pachyrhino, if I did an honorable mention section it would’ve been there. The megalania is interesting I didn’t consider that creature, which means it would’ve been perfect for this list! 😂
@@stian56 also true I had that in my notes and just didn’t mention it, I also forgot to mention how you can bite to turn 180 with the Sarco, good catch!
The Equus' kick is good for knocking out any creature, not just early tames. Even gigas can get sleepy from the gentle caress of equus hind legs, though it's slightly more risky to knock out a giga that way.
I think it dies too fast to be viable vs the big creatures but you are right, could've worded that a lot better because I moreso meant it wasn't advisable/optimal to knock out big creatures this way
Would like to mention some things: Megaloceros' don't have a dash they just have good jumps like saber's Carno's don't have a charge attack (sadly) Beelzebufo can attack underwater but it's a bite instead of a lick while underwater I wouldn't say the Bary is underrated almost everyone uses them for caves, even Syntac who's the biggest Ark RUclipsr rn Nice list though the Sarco is my go to early game tame
Yeah megaloceros I worded that poorly but was showing it as the chain jump on the video at least, the carno I was dead wrong, and I’m genuinely shocked that the frog has an attack underwater but people keep commenting it so I’m gonna have to try and deal damage with that thing underwater again 😂 (I have thousands of hours and use the frog all the time and didn’t know that). I’ve been getting some pushback on the baryonyx which is probably deserved, I just don’t use it much myself and my ark circle doesn’t either (besides water cave defense) so that’s been surprising but cool to see. Thanks for the thorough comment!
Bigfoot is the most underrated if you ask me. Crazy knockback, good damage, small and mobile with a jump. Can Wear helmets for crazy protection or just use fatty to give it armor based on its food stat.
@ I can see why, I have a personal bias because it’s just Sasquatch haha, just a cool creature. But I do think people overlook it a lot, always gravitate to dire bears, baryonyx or other creatures of its size but bred and imprinted it’s a beast, definitely more viable now with certain trait builds. Maybe a bit lacking in utility so I can see why not included
The Baryonyx is perhaps the most circlejerked tame in the entire game, so you are mad trippin to call it underrated, but the rest of the list is good. Xiphactinus swarm on follow and aggressive is insane for black pearl farming on the center.
Dude the crazy thing is in my ark circle we literally never use it and most people I know hate it so it’s been shocking to see everyone like it and use it, thanks! If I were to replace the baryonyx I’d include the Gigantopithecus
I find it hard to believe that Carno’s are under rated just for the simple fact of how good they are, i started an Aberration play through and they are amazing for taking out creatures in the blue zone.
9:53 To be fair it’s better than the Rex for the Broodmother which is notable because the Megapithicus is generally the easiest for a variety of tames to bring down and both kind of suck for the Dragon.
@@ProfessorRugops it’s better for the brood its worse for most other bosses in ark, should’ve mentioned this though that was the reason I had them fighting the brood in the broll
The procoptodon is extremally USELESS when it comes to breeding, yeah maybe it can move babies in It's pouch but it can only fit dodos and other useless small creatures. It's really anoying as imprint boost would have been very usefull, if it would work on rexes or on other large creatures. It is a good travel mount but only on scorched earth, other maps have much better options.
Yeah it definitely was better prior to maewing and gigantoraptor I’m not arguing there in the slightest, but I think a lot of people, like you, have gone too far the other way with the procop. I like it as an early game mount as a long distance high weight option for early game resource runs, and it being able to pick up the random baby dinosaurs you collect now in Ascended is a nice tool. I did oversell it in the breeding department though, you’re right. Thanks for the thorough comment!
I said once, I'll say again. The spino is the most OP creature when it comes to water filled maps. I prefer the spino over the rex when getting prime meat and prime fish meat. In aberration, the spino is basically a giga.
@JasesAce You can use trikes right click ability and charge through a forest once and you'll have thousands of thatch. They seem to have nerfed it on ascended though. In evolved it's absolutely broken.
Clarification: Dire bear is best for harvesting organic polymer from polymer plants on Abberation and some later maps. Dire bear is generally not good for harvesting from corpses, so don't use it to harvest Karkinos etc.. Therys are also good for polymer plants, but there's no Therys on Abb, so a dire bear is essential on that map.
Moschops is not weak. It's very easily to get them to 5k hp and hitting for 600 damage. I've taken them into caves and they have overperformed as they have a massive hit box
It is weak, in hindsight I went a bit overboard saying it's "super weak" because it CAN be pumped to a decent statistical level unlike some other creatures in the game, but the ceiling for a moschops is lower than most other mounts. I'm impressed you got it to caving level to be honest!
I might have been tripping because I just play tested it and couldn't get a charge to work, I think a running headbutt does more damage than a normal headbutt which is KIND of a "charge", nothing of note though
@@JasesAceah okay would be cool if they added it though. Anyway awesome video, can’t wait to see more and I agree Sacro is the most underrated tame in Ark
I believe it does, I just looked it up and saw a Beyplays video showing it inflict a bleed from like 9 months ago. Maybe they added it for Ascended? Unless we both made that error which would be funny
i like ASA, its not worth money though its just reskinned ark with some cool and some dumb added creatures. honestly the ark concept is something i enjoy enough to call ASA a good game regardless of how much of a scam it is
Someone SOMEONE make a mod that fixes the tamed spino AI so they actually use their damn bipedal form. I love spinos and never tame rexes anymore but holy hell do they have atrocious AI. Just imagine how quick you could murder bosses with 20 bipedal max imprinted spinos.
@@ITS_MysteR yeah when I was researching other videos on this topic I was shocked no one mentioned this mechanic, I love spinos and if they fixed this I’d probably exclusively use them for everything

The brayonyx is good for the ocean for its stun ability
@@Sub_Tractor I think he’s moreso arguing that people already think the baryonyx good so it’s not “underrated” by definition

The meglodons suck in caves. Out in the open water op af. But as soon as they're in a cave they leave the brain cells outside.
Yeah this is why I run with Xiphs in caves, Megalodons are still good if you're good with the whistle commands, just more annoying

It holds babies. Can hold bears and trikes even argys I believe. When they get a certain size they get booted out though. So be in time for imprints.

13:02 It can actually attack underwater, but without the tongue so you need to stay close to the target
It's so bad that I never even knew this hahaha, thanks for the comment!
I actually stopped using megaloceros for thatch after I realized Trikes charge ability is a thatch monster.
I just use megaloceros because it is so ridiculously fast when chain jumping, Trikes are great though!
