I can so relate to this song. My old 8 bit computer broke, I spent two weeks tracing the fault and fixing it. Then put it back on the shelf as I don't use it above twice a year. That was very anticlimactic. LOL.
i just finished knitting a scarf i’d been working on feverishly for a month and a half. got completely blindsided when i sat down to work on it and realized it was long enough and i could stop. set adrift for hours. love the song ❤
I can definitely relate. I'm an illustrator, and a lot of the time, I don't get any fanfair about my work. I also felt it when I graduated college since I graduated in 2020. It was strange. I worked my ass off to graduate and get my art degree, finally get my degree, and then. Now what? Especially during the main surge of the pandemic. Hope you have a lovely day!
It is the twelfth day of Christmas as I type this, so Merry Christmas Thomas! The music and decorations are gone from my store, but they are still in full swing here at home! As to what now? I got most of my Christmas projects done, including some new vids. I'm pondering doing a song a week of my own, even if it is just doodling around with some chords. But who knows, that could always turn into something else. Consider yourself to be an inspiration here!
Happy new year. Automotive/retail. December-New years is the busy period with sales, people panicking as they have left car maintenance to the last minute and needing their car working for their roadtrip, people having time off so deciding to work on their classic car then getting angry as the supplier i got to phone for the part they need is closed for break lol. The end build up is ahh relax and return to normal lol 😂 And funny enough, the add that played at the end of the video was my workplace/the company i work for😂
This song perfectly sums up the end of a big project. Im in college and we've had to do a group project since last September, and we have to hand it in soon. Feels weird XD
The lack of applause from my previous yarn projects has left me feeling like no yarn-doll will ever appreciate me...I am off to drink a bloody Mary and begin another project in the hopes that the yarn project I just finished will appreciate me more. Which part of this makes me most insane?
Happy New Year! While I have plenty of times where projects are anticlimactic, but being in commercial construction now, we actually do have a bunch of climatic ends to our projects. Often times, we'll have a 'topping off' party when the structural roof is complete, and another when the building completes final inspection. Most of the workers are gone by then, but we're told they happen.
How I can relate! Thank you! I just finished making an Edwardian-style fancy dress for a New Year’s cosplay party in Philadelphia! It took me three months from start to finish! The party itself was lovely. I actually got some recognition (“Puffiest” Dress), and I’ll trot it out next fall and winter season. But these last few days have been a daze. 😊 I just purchased several yards of fabric ahead of whatever tariffs will happen after 01/20 😒 and will do my next project, a qipao, for sheer cheek and spite! Thank you for this! And the best of New Years!
Merry Christmas Charlie Brown! I used to work on movies, TV shows and video production in general. Things end but not really, it's work. For movies we sometimes had a private screening of the finished product, so it was somewhat of an "ending", but not really since you say bye to everybody and see some of them next week because you got hired on the same project. For TV shows and video production in general you never got that screening and again, you see some of the staff next week.
A doubly appropriate song! I'm more muddling through rather than tackling big projects these days, but I remember this feeling from years gone by, even if my old memory is refusing to supply interesting examples. Happy New Year!
So very a propos at this time of year! Thank you for this! The NYE anticlimax is why I just go to bed early, lol. BTW can so relate to that feeling about the end of a theatre gig too!! So intense for weeks, then poof- closing night & it's all over & we all move on to the next project 😢🥰 What kind of theatre stuff did you get roped into? 😀
I can definitely relate to this song every time a family event or something I'm looking forward to is coming up i get so focused on making sure I've got everything needed for the event and making it on-time ect and then when it's done I'm like we'll that went well didn't need to worry as much 🤣 its was the same when i was in school and doing tafe courses and we had an assignment due 🥰🤣
Graduated from my masters in linguistics this summer. Woohoo 😑 Being one of those poor sods who joined a programme in Fall 2019, it was cursed from the start. In the process I did a bunch of mistakes that lengthened the project and also lead me to discover linguistics really wasn’t for me. Lots of bureaucratic nightmares on top. After finally handing it in it felt so alien to me that it was like the last five years just didn’t happen, let aside any closure. Many lessons learned, of course, but “at what cost” lol. Planning to start a PhD in history this year, here’s to hoping it’ll go much better…
I work in billing, so at the end of every month there's a big push, and then we start the next month and it's steady work for a couple of weeks before the big push comes again.
Love the song. As regards Christmas even though I'm not a Christian per sey, I am a huge Christmas fan. So much so that I observe the 12 days of Christmas which go through the night of Jan 5th into the morning of the 6th which some refer to as little Christmas. My observation is driven largely by the Charles Dickens quote "Christmas is or ought to be the one time of year when men and women see their one consent to open up their shut up hearts to their fellow man." I think we all want to stretch that mindset out as long as we possibly can. So my question is did anyone give you any musical gifts for Christmas? Instruments, recordings, strings, or any other musical goodies? Also did you and friends do any caroling or did you have any pass by where you live?

Honestly a bit of a relief to sit around quietly and do nothing for a bit after grinding out a big project. Time to clear my head and regroup.

Love your wit, humour and banjo mastery. Happy New Year, look forward to many more satirical masterpieces.

I've been in that exact state since November! I finished my immigration process after nine years and now I need to find a new big goal!
Good people are hard to find. Stay genuine/real and keep adding value to life just being you.
Good morning at 6:08 a.m. south East Coast, United States!!! happy new year, my friend

Mate perfect timing. About to hand in my last assignment for a university certificate.
An excellent New Year to you and yours and to everybody.
I so enjoy your songs and video’s!! Keep m coming! 👍😊

When you've climbed the mountain, you have to climb back down the mountain. But take a moment to enjoy the view before you head down.
Thank you so much for this song!!
Happy New Yearto you and your partner,Tom
Nice song, thanks for the update.
Every time I finish a big work project. Every. Time.

This is the song of my life. Lol
Please come to Scarborough, Filey, or Bridlington
Finding out that the set was recorded after the fact avoided the added stress of knowing you're being recorded

Brilliant song, only question is which period of government are you referring to?!! :)
Suprise!!! (This one isn't on your bingo card!)

bold of you to assume I actually finish any project before starting the next
Should've saved this one for the last song of the Song a Week project. 😉
