I practice martial arts and have always been sceptical about pressure points; this is the most persuading video I have ever seen on the art and it's mainly to do with how genuinely earnest and experienced this instructor is...it reminds me of Einstein's saying "those who know something well, explain it simply"
    Thank you sir!

As a Martial Artist for over 44 years and a Nightclub Security Professional for over 20 years and Professional Bodyguard in Los Angeles for 6 years, I can assure you that these DO in fact work. It is an art which requires practice. Those who doubt may need to simply train harder instead of running off at the mouth so much.

Finally someone who actually understands how to manipulate pressure points in Martial arts and can explain the whys and hows quite clearly to everyone. All respect to you Master Scott Rodgers!!
Not just another martial arts sheep who repeats the teachings of their master without having dared to ask why or how.
The real chalenge of martial arts is to adapt the fighting skills to suit you as an individual, just as you should adapt your other skills to benefit your situation.

I agree with you, I do not think that applies in a street fight or against a trained fighter or less with a professional fighter. But I think that certain professionals like bouncers, security guards, police and other security and law enforcement professionals should study this in detail, because it is very good to control without having to destroy the body or anyone's face. This is a personal opinion, with a constructive purpose, not to bothering anyone.

I've never practiced martial arts, but learned a few pressure points growing up, from fighting with my brothers and from my marine uncle.
The few I knew have been very valuable working at a drinking hole. Removing belligerent drunks would be a bitch without pressure points, especially when you're not allowed to strike them. I've seen people drunk enough to ignore a broken nose, but never pressure points.
Still, I had no idea there were so many. This video will make life even easier. Gracias!

    • @sanucues

groomedtodie You are correct . I started in 1988 and many pf these I have mastered example on the radial nerve, the ulner nerve and the from the waist area using the siactic nerve on the outside of the thigh and down to the ankle .Once your see the opening strike the nerve relative to the angle and the direction .This works it freezes the opponent and opens up other points to be hit takes years of practice with a good partner and master teachers like the late DR MOSES

  • @stundobolt

@kamikaziu the whole point of these pressure points is to add them into your move set. You wouldn't just fight someone with pressure points alone, you would have to set them up. Imagine how much better your fighting would be if you made your punches and kicks target those pressure point areas. They work well.

I enjoyed this video. I enjoyed your methodology and personality as a teacher. Not many can teach this subject as well as you do. Well done. I subscribed to watch your entire series. I am not taking sides as so many of you are doing. The one who walks away, wins!! Okay? As in all fighting systems and arts, you have to pick and choose what works for you. You will need more than pressure points. The only way you are ever going to know what works and what does not work for you is to fight. I know this leave a lot of people out because they are not and never will be a fighter. Everyone can learn to not be a victim. We all need to learn what it takes to not be a victim and if others try to make you a victim then learn various ways to get yourself out of a dangerous situation. Everyone needs to learn how to protect themselves and you can do this by watching, listening to many fight oriented RUclips videos. Get advice from many sources. Get a partner and practice. Take classes that pertain to you and to your ability.Think, awaken your awareness and common sense. Just my general oriented opinion.

This is awesome! I have studied martial arts and learned that any technique is valuable once you start to apply it and really study the human body dynamics to defeat or defend yourself in situations that could prove useful depending on your situation. For those who have commented in the past negatively, do not appreciate what it takes to learn these moves and APPLY them to your style or situation of the moment.

I have used some of the pressure points shown here in a security job I had, used the wrist ones in combination with wrist locks. I even used a pinky lock to take a rather LARGE and cocky guy out of the building, the pain plus me telling him you swing I break made him comply rather fast. I also learned some of these points in my martial arts training. Very efffective
