    @Whiggi Great stuff, another subscriber!
    On the third point, "Check with the engine". For us complete blanks, it would've been nice to include some tips on practical ways to accomplish that. Maybe in another video?

    I just find it hard to remember all the games analysed, or even a single move from an analysed game. When analysing a game I can flick through each move and almost all of them say "ah yes, I can see why my move is bad or why the suggested move is good" and "oh yeah, I'm lucky the opponent didn't make that move because I blundered hard". But when playing a game I just forget all of that. Maybe I play slightly better over time, but I don't think I'm building a sense of how to avoid the same situations I keep walking into, or to spot the better moves before they happen.

      How quick are your games, and how quick are your analysis sessions? A lot of people get into the habit of flicking through, I myself was once guilty of that as well!
      General rule of thumb your self analysis + engine should take AT LEAST the same time as your game took to play.
      You spend 30 mins in a game, there should be at minimum 30 mins give or take of analysis. (no situation will be the same.. obviously we wont waste time on an easy win where the opponent lost to a 4 move checkmate)
      Personally, I find I remember a lot from games I take more seriously. For example OTB (Over The Board - Tournaments) if you were to name an opponent I played in the last 4 years I can tell you the general outline of the game and the turning point.
      However, mention a random I played online in a 5 minute game... yeah I wont know anything about it. I simply was not invested in the game :)
      You need some quality games where you are invested (it could be OTB, or it could be fighting for rating increase and trying to get to your peak rating), concentration must be on the game (and analysis!), so turn off any distractions - move phone away, turn off the youtube video playing at the side and focus on the task :)
      Good Luck! :)

    Great content! Congrats! I am thinking about getting the chessnut pro. Overall, do you recommend it?

    • @whiggi
      @whiggi  3 месяца назад +1

      I do! And thanks for the kind words :)
      I've had the pro for a while now and still get great use out of it, unlike other eboards that sit collecting dust. It's very handy for training, long games and I keep finding nice helpful features on it.
      I also like the customisation for it, in a few days I'll be getting new pieces to add to it and am looking forward to that, as someone who wants to collect chess pieces it's nice to be able to use them with the board as well :)
      If you do decide to get the pro and want to support my channel (and get a really good discount as well), you can use code WHIGGI
      If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask :)

    I stopped improving when I stopped analyzing my games. For me anything under 12 minutes to disposable chess.
