The founders are actually smart. The first offer from Anupam was a bad one. It's like saying the founders are making the investors money double in 2 years and in return the investor is keeping 1% of the company. Kudos to the team for closing a good deal at the end. ✊✊
With royalty they get 4 crores, if the 2 crores was offered as a debt for 10 % it would have come out to be 3.3 crores(10 % interest). Which means they wanted to loot 70 lakhs and also questioned the entrepreneur's math while doing so.
The logic given by Anupam justifying his royalty deal is completely flawed, In debt you don't lose your equity, but here the business is losing it's equity as well as money which is a complete loot.
