    Man, owning and managing a restaurant is HARD!
    I've been running my cafe for 8 months now and man, Im gon lose my hair soon lol

      im not even owning a restaurant yet, ive been helping in my family restaurant and will eventually take it over. and even im about to loose my damn mind over it. For reference we dont even serve anything fancy, just diner style foods.

    My family purchased a restaurant thats been great and also a snowballing disaster waiting to pop.
    i think thats most places. if it isnt one thing breaking its another each month Lol. this month was the ice machine 500$ and plumbing in the kitchen 300$ + 5 hours of my effort with our snake we have.
    our place is two seperate buildings joined together before we purchased it so, two ac and heating systems, two power systems and two water systems.
    our kitchen is the about 9 foot by 5 foot in walkable space. its tiny as hell.
    we serve about 100-250 on sundays
    10-25 for breakfast and 25-50 for lunch weekdays
    10-40 on monday, wensday and saturday nights
    tuesday, thursday and friday about 50-80 (taco tuesday, rib thursday and steak friday)
    we just got into lent so its fish fry on friday nights, we did 80 lbs of fresh pollock hand breaded in literally 90 minuites.
    but after all of that the current pricing on food and stuff for our place and others like us are just soul crushing.
    we cant go like you to a big place and save on food like that we get most of ours from wallmart or our freight company.
    we order some stuff from samsclub to save money but we are 2 hours from even a samsclub let alone anything else resturant scale.
    i am 25 and have been working here since i was 12 in the kitchen. i love it and cant imagine anything else. that being said im afraid of ownership once i take it over but thats not for a few years most likely.

      It certainly becomes an obsession. You worry and think all the time how can I be better. What more can I do. It won’t run right without me.
