It took me around 10 years to truly understand and know what to look for when buying a vintage timepiece for my collection. Hearing Phil starts his collecting journey in 2015 and seeing a collection like that is genuinely impressive. It almost feels as if Phil knew what he liked and understood this hobby in great depth since day 1! Let's focus on something other than the watch brands he owns, as that will depends on personal preferences and budget. Still, the overall condition of his watches is in their original condition (unpolished, no redial, no relumed, etc.) and in absolutely great shape, genuinely revealing his passion and telling us how great of an art director he is.
the energy between these two is contagious 😂 thoroughly enjoyed this video up until the end. The longer the better I always say because this really felt podcast-esque. 👍
Mark - Great, Great, Great video! Mister Enthusiast is highly entertaining and his knowledge of the vintage world was enlightening & educational, When you learn a lot while being entertained you’ve found a great channel. Happy New Year!
What a great collection! One suggestion for future collector videos. Maybe add a bit more B-roll so we can see closeups of the pieces. Otherwise, great info here.
@@felixfelucci6955 speculation-imagine they were always disorganized and then influx of capital with their series b threw everything for a loop. 'grow' 'bigger' 'wider audience'... lost their core after that...
i would love a rose dial or any floral elements on my watches. i think of those cartier cpcp dials with the guilloché rosette, and the floral engraving on the caseback of the original must de cartier tanks 🌹
I actually considered buying a Ressence. But the thing that put me off was that they're so specific - non standard crown, unique components, oil filled movement etc - that if something were to go wrong I imagine that they'd be the *only* watchmakers that could service and repair the watch. And if the company doesn't last... you'd be stuffed.
A collection where someone actually had to manage funds like a mere mortal. VS. my dad’s a trust fund pimp and I spend 3 million a month on the latest pateks .
Finally a format like this. Hopeful for more of this type of content. Beautiful

Beautiful collection. Would like to see longer shots of the watches and less of the two people in the video. Great content none the less.
Yes agree with you. Hopefully they will change that in the next video.
Agree !
I can’t agree more
100%. We're here to see the watches
Brilliant episode! Very refreshing with such a light hearted conversation between these two horological sweethearts.
Fantastic collection from an individual who understands the importance of humor.

Seeing Phil talk about the Olangapo bracelet makes me smile!
Everyone's favorite geezer! This was fantastic.
Enjoyed this video. Great chemistry between you two guys and thoroughly enjoyed his comments regarding his collection. Have this guy back!!
I lol'd at Horological Sausage Parties
Missed these series. Thanks, Mark!
The advice of competing with your own imagination in building a collection is pure gold!
I really really love these pieces. Both hosts were great also.
Loved the conversation! Would love to see more videos like these of people just geeking out over watches
Glad you enjoyed it!
Loved the conversation and the collection of course. I’d really like to see more of these. 😀

Amazing video Mark! And Phil's such a great guest!
Wow. Need to do this more often!
That was an awesome video! What a fun guest.

Amazing collection. Those vintage Rolex are beautiful.
great video, love the taste and “contrast” of phil’s collection. very nice 😊
Fantastic interview with Phil T
Phil’s collection is insane
Those pre Daytonas are fantastic particularly the white dial one overall a nice collection
Awesome collection! Re: Olongapo’s pronunciation: it’s pretty close to the actual pronunciation. Phonetically, it’s O-longgah-poh. :)
monster collection! thank you for doing this, would love to see more given what has happened to hodinkee.
What happened with them?

I love this collection, it’s done confidently.
That was a correct pronunciation of Olongapo. And even better with Phil's accent!
Better than Hodinkee's Talking watches
Brilliant video. Hopefully you will make more videos in 2023 which is like your version of talking watches.

Awesome!

This was cool, really like Phil.
Japanese 70's Patek 🔥
Those are amazing Patek!
Awesome collection!!
Come on Mark! That Nautilipse is beautiful.
great video. the goat. amazing content as always
Horological sausage party 🎉 got me😂
5:01 👏🏼👍🏼👌🏼
Excellent! 👏👏👏
Great advice Phil
Insane collection
Wonderful
When Patek dials go tropical it's amazing. When Casio dials go tropical, they go in the trash bin. lol
Excellent collection
I love the conversation, but please god show the watches more! Sorry but we aren’t here to look at you guys 🤣
If those watches brand are not PP AND ROLEX what do u think?
I can't be sure, but was he an art director? Asking for a mate.
Always buy what YOU love, not what others love.
How about you show some of the engravings instead of just talking about it. These are amazing watches and I would love to see them
Teddy Baldasarre was never so offended as when Phil says people don't consider lug width.
Real men wear big bold Invicta’s 😂

I’m literally going to have to look up some of these model numbers because they wouldn’t ever really show the watches in a watch collection video 🙄
36 minutes well spent.
All the watches are Augly ‼️⌚
Bragging about being a snob isnt the greatest look in the world.
Pateks why there not that exciting
Love his collection, but even playing it at x2 speed, it was boring as fuck
