He mentions that he doesn't understand why the story of Judah and Tamar is in the book. That it was a strange story. BUT, it is important as Perez is in the lineage of Christ. Tamar was used by GOD to force Judah to be righteous.. which, I'm sure was not exactly an easy thing to do. Because if she didn't succeed it would be her life. And, because she followed as GOD led her, Perez became next in line of the lineage of Christ.

7:58. Benjamin was Joseph's younger brother.
    See Genesis 20:22-24 (Joseph), 35:16-18 (Benjamin) and 35:24 (Joseph and Benjamin). Also, Genesis 42:4, 42:34, 42:36-38, 43:16-45:14.

As one who does not criticize often; he was so hard to follow. I know at the time, teaching was a new to him. But oh my I certainly hope he has gotten better in his presentation and his speech patterns.

GCBI is s gift from to me. I want thank all that participated in the making of these videos. However, I hope all these years later that the once young man speaking has repented by this point and no longer foolishly slanders chosen men of God the way he did Jacob in his representation of Jacobs roll as a leader roll model to his family. This is certainly a mistake of immaturity and hopefully God had corrected his heart. You had no in-site into the details you placed judgement on. The outcome does not often represent the effort. Especially when it comes to individuals outside of your control. “Godly leaders” often fall into the trap of taking liberties God did not give them to take!

You take a ton of creative liberty in this lesson when it may have been more truthful to relate this story to how Joseph was given responsibility early something common of one being a good Stewart of small things and how God knows what we need. What we know is that God decided Joseph would learn more and be challenged appropriate to his capabilities if he was sold into slavery
