The opening sequence of the police and paramedics cleaning up barn and carrying away the bodies with the police cars, ambulance, and helicopter in a single take was awesome. It's like the Crystal Lake went back to normal.
Imo, it shows the aftermath of those kind of crime scenes. Everyone but Chris was dead, so they just gathered all of the evidence and left scene to what it had become: dark and lifeless.
My favorite Friday the 13th and favorite horror movie of all time. I saw this in theaters aa a kid and the audience participation was incredible! Standing ovation and all. Best experience ever!
The legendary "timeline" of parts 2, 3 and 4 gets me every time I watch these movies. It's like a total of 2 days or something in which all these events happen. The writers are the ones setting it up this way, but also writing as if time had passed a bit more like the actual time between productions. It's a hilarious and fascinating quirk of these movies.
aside from a few small things like Jason changing appearance and there really being no way for Rob to have any idea what really happened to Sandra let alone be mounting his expedition they do a pretty good job of making it seem plausible it is one long killing spree
or even if we don't assume certain day of the calendar here we go day 1: jason kills ralph the doomsayer nutjob/drunk in part 2 while he's peeping on ginny and paul, next day (2) jason kills everybody except ginny (3) morning after end of 2, ginny's taken away wondering where paul is (and near certainly passed out somewhere and jason didn't find her during, also had to have blacked out stuff that happened after 2 ended), that night jason gets some new clothes, gains size, shaves head and kills the couple that lives in and runs that side of the road store then (4) day of part 3 into night where chris axes jason (already killed everybody else) in the head and wakes up day (5) on boat hallucinates jason is alive then after pam voorhees now with a head comes out of lake to take her under, is taken away muttering nonsense/out of her head, that night paramedics/cops take jason to morgue where he kills 2 night shift hospital workers and starts walking back to crystal lake into day (6) the events of part 4 occur. 6 days from night of day 1 into middle of night day 6
it was likely not super late at night on day 1 when jason barb wire/chokes to death ralph (since ginny/paul probably not fooling around late into night, they got work to do the next day), and likely much later into night when part 4 ends, so just over 5 days.
This is my favorite Friday the 13th. I'm mad you didn't reference the basement kill. The "he's killing me, he's killing me. That is the funniest scene.
Part 4 is a classic to me it closes out this part of the franchise but also leaves it open to explore a new character In a trilogy I love the Jarvis triogly and I wish we got to see more of him after part VI
Whenever someone asks which Friday the 13th is my favorite, it always goes part 2 and part 4. Part 4 is such a phenomenal way to end the series. Even if it didn't end, it really did feel like a perfect final chapter. Even with the ending suggesting Tommy would become someone like Jason. Crispin Glover is the best in this movie! I'm also glad Tom Savini's microwave idea was vetoed. The machete kill was the way to go.
Ha! I feel the same way! This would be the “top” if the chase scene at the end was like the one on part 2….. and part 2 would be the “top” if the kills weren’t so abruptly trimmed…..
Allegedly, jimmy was originally dancing to a heavy metal song, the director( or editors ,not sure) didnt like the song, so the song you hear in the movie was dubbed over it.
Hands down the best Friday..... I remember being 9 in 2003 visiting my mom in Dubai, she had the dvd and left me alone on the apartment for a couple of hours and I’ve been hooked ever since
What *HAPPENED* is that it was successful. It succeeded is what happened. And like a toddler who doesn't like to share, Paramount said, "Fine...you can hang out in the sandbox a little longer. Just don't touch anything."
Part 2 is my favorite. The story is told very organically and does a great job of expanding on the Jason character and why he does what he does. It also has great continuity from the first film; something that goes right out the window as soon as Part 3.
5:45 "He thinks thats funny....he thinks thats a funny thing he's doing!" Always loved that part. Just how Jimmy said it. Like a lot of fans, this is one of my favorite Fridays too.
The series is huge in our house, The Final Chapter is easily my favorite Friday. For me It captures everything I love about Friday the 13th. Always felt Joseph Zito is an underrated horror director, The Prowler is fantastic...I'd love to see u guys do something on that film eventually.
Part 6 is probably the best movie in the traditional sense and the only one that feels like it has any real visual style, but Part 4 is the quintessential Jason Voorhees experience.
the deaths in 6 were cartoonishly awesome. from bending a guy in half, crushing a skull, ripping out a heart with one punch, ripping off a head, crushing a head into a large RV's bathroom wall, triple decap, they really went nuts in 6.
Cory was supposed to do Part 5 as well, but he had another movie commitment (can't remember the movie maybe" Stand By Me") and the director wouldn't let him out of the contract. That's why he only makes a cameo appearance in the beginning (both parties agreed to this) which kind of worked for part 5.
The series truly ended here. My only issue with Final Chapter is the Jason makeup- I prefer Stan Winston’s work for the reveal. I know Savini basically remade his template from Part 1 but Brooker’s version was the scariest to me: a deformed feral human. Brooker’s blue eyes were perfect for that effect and give him a disturbing appearance..
Hell to the yeah! "The Final Chapter" has always been one of the best, if not the best, entries in the franchise. Hopefully those who go back and reboot/relaunch this franchise (in whatever form) take notice. Stick with what works. The elements of "The Final Chapter" work.
This to me is the most entertaining and most terrifying movie in the franchise. Jason is portrayed as brutal and menacing, and I like how he lingers in the dark for alot of the scenes. Compared to Jason Lives where he is shown a lot in the day light. I also love how the kills are serious. Jason Lives leans into comedic kills way too much. I prefer this movie over the super meta Jason Lives
In the Crystal Lake memories book and doc, Ted White mentions that Corey Feldman was a brat so in the scene where Jason smashes through the glass and grabs Tommy...White jumped in a second early to legit scare the shit out of Feldman. It worked and it shows on film.

They put that line in the Friday the 13th game
👍 correct me please if im wrong, wasnt it something like "run! Hes killing me! Run!"?
It only took Rob a second to realize Jason was waaaaay stronger.

Just listen to certain podcasts where they talk about longer topics.

part 6 is objectively the best
a lot of people think 4 is the best but it does nothing the others don't do, I love it but it's the most overrated

For my part 2’s biggest “sin” is how quick the kills are…. Otherwise I LOVE that entry
@@alejandromolinac I'll admit, that did bother me too. But have you seen the uncut kills from the Shout Factory release?
Yes. 2 and 4 are the best in the franchise. 2 is my favorite. It locks in so much of the franchise formula and the last 30 minutes are a banger.
5:24 The Moore twins were really cute!
5:45 "He thinks thats funny....he thinks thats a funny thing he's doing!"

The Final Chapter is an excellent entry!
Jimmy wasnt too cleaver, he got screwed
then got nailed
It came out, and in the broad spectrum of things became the 2nd greatest film of the series. Narrowly losing to Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives
Part 4 is the best.
Part 6 is probably the best movie in the traditional sense and the only one that feels like it has any real visual style, but Part 4 is the quintessential Jason Voorhees experience.
Part 6 is too watered down. It’s a good movie, but it’s not a good Friday the 13th movie.
Part 6 is certainly the best entry for legit script and plot. It's still not as strong of a slasher as Parts 2 and 4.
I think the first has an iconic visual style
