As a person living in Perth, Australia we have an interesting story about the day George Best randomly showed up to play a game of Amateur Football for one of our local teams (Osborne Park Galeb). I'd love to hear some more, say, a 7 Footballers with appearances for obscure teams (and the story of how it came to be)
I somehow knew there would be a Greek club here. Sadly, the top spot was stripped off from it. Tough luck for a club which hasn't won basically anything. I come from Greece and even I didn't know Levadiakos' route to the Super League. Huge respect and admiration for the effort and for the simple fact that you are even aware of clubs like Levadiakos, among others. A fun fact about Levadiakos: they just WOULDN'T get relegated!!! They were in the relegation zone for multiple seasons, but each year they somehow managed to stay in the first division. Financial problems, for example, meant that other clubs had to be relegated and, consequently, Levadiakos escaped relegation. We were making jokes about this... One very small and insignificant notice: The intonation of "Ethniki" is incorrect. It's the last syllable that is louder.
7:44 honorific mention to Atlas in Mexico as they just ended an infamous 70-year trophy drought... it's worth noting that I'm a Chivas fan (Atlas' nemesis) and still feel kinda happy for them!! great video as usual Alfie!!!
@@timsmith1323 I agree, hence the honorary mention , they could have perfectly qualified for this video if published a few weeks earlier, I bet it felt like centuries for their fans
As someone born and raised in Zrenjanin, i cant describe the feeling i got when I saw you mentioned our Club! It really shows deep deep research and dedication. However, The old Proleter Zrenjanin did win the Serbian Second League in 1966 and 1970.
Now do "7 Clubs, that have never been promoted". Here in Germany, that actually only applies to the Hamburger SV. They always played in the highest possible league, until they got relegated a couple of years back. They haven't made it back to the Bundesliga so far, but yet they miss their chance to buy "Unpromotable" merchandise, which I and many people in St. Pauli would certainly buy. Right now, they are in 5th place, so they might give you another year to work on this list... I wonder, if there are more clubs like that in leagues with a promotion/ relegation system...
Speaking of Partizan and Red Star. Possible idea for a video. FK Obilic, if you can find English sources on that. Basically the only club in Serbia, other then Red Star and Partizan to win a league. We are talking 1998, so if you want to be technical still Yugoslavia, but practically Serbia and Montenegro. They did that while they were basically being ran by a mobster/war criminal. They are currently in like a 7th tier I think. Would help with the Serbian sources, but I am currently really busy on my bachelors thesis.

my team, wellington phoenix, have never won anything. no a-league regular season premierships or finals series trophies, no ffa cups, not eligible to even compete in continental championships due to being based in one confederation and competing in another, the reserve team which plays in the nz top flight has never gotten much done there, the recently-minted women's team hasn't even won a match yet. neither of its spiritual predecessors have won anything either. the closest we've come so far has been a penalty shootout loss in the 2008 final of the short-lived and barely official pre-season challenge cup.

Interesting, how you define "Trophy". In Germany only DFB-Pokal, League Title and Supercup title were considered "real titles" (Aside local cups). In recent years this changed, so that Divisional 1st places are also considered trophies now.
You highlighting Miami oddly hurts as an Orlando City fan lol. We did win the USL twice, but that's technically a different franchise since we don't do promotion/relegation. We've been in the MLS for 7 seasons without winning anything, but you chose Miami 🤦♂️.
@@lollipopsaresmelly technically speaking no, as he said, it's technically a different franchise, the old franchise that won the USL trophies no longer exists. It's technically a new team when a team from a lower division gets an expansion into the MLS. They do not count those trophies as part of their history, as this team formed in 2015. Day 352: Ways to fix VAR with your suggestions
No
How would you fancy doing a similar video looking at Clubs that havent won a title in the last 49 (7*7) years. I assume that would feature some bigger names and give some great ideas for FM saves
What happened to Panathinaikos?
Yeah but how many times have Barcelona reached the FA Cup final?? None! Lol :)

Video idea: best player at every transfer fee 1m-120m?
Don't know if anyone's suggested this but how would prem teams place in the table if they had the same squad as 7 years ago now
Interesting, how you define "Trophy". In Germany only DFB-Pokal, League Title and Supercup title were considered "real titles" (Aside local cups). In recent years this changed, so that Divisional 1st places are also considered trophies now.
A Cup is a Cup, a Wins a Win.
Why did they make a doco on a team in the 5th tier
Those teams can have their own
"Hope Cup(s)" !
Why did you do us like that Alfie
You highlighting Miami oddly hurts as an Orlando City fan lol. We did win the USL twice, but that's technically a different franchise since we don't do promotion/relegation. We've been in the MLS for 7 seasons without winning anything, but you chose Miami 🤦♂️.
So you won a trophy... What are you complaining about haha
MLS is weird and kind of annoying, and this is coming from an American that watches a MLS side at home and on the road when I get the chance to travel.
@@jldch26 id still count defunct trophies but yeah my francise knowledge is very limited thanks for clarifying that
