Same for me. I always look forward to his videos. This is the first pattern I ever followed and first adult size blanket I ever made. The only difference was I crocheted it in BLO for the entire blanket so it had lots of texture. I was 13 and made it for my best friend’s birthday. She was into rainbows and unicorns (it was back in the 1980’s, funny how it has all come around again). I made it in rainbow colors, 20 rows per color repeat and it was for a double bed. All these years later, she still has this blanket, which amazes me, and even better it has really held up, none of the ends have come out, etc. I am so glad others love this pattern too.

This is a nice easy chevron or ripple stitch. Many years ago, 47 to be accurate, I made a ripped baby blanket, easy mindless pattern I worked it every afternoon after work and while dinner cooked. I watched M.A.S.H. reruns while I crochet. Well, my initial width was 38". But by the time it was 27" long, my width had shrunk to about 20" wide. Lots of frogging and no more M.A.S.H. while I crocheted. The multicolor afghan wrapped my daughter well and was a joy every day. Lesson learned, be mindful of you crochet tension. It was a fun project.
