- Hi guys.... welcome back to our channel! In this video, we'll take you to this tranquil Brownsea Island, Dorset, to escape the hustle & bustle of everyday life and embrace nature.
Brownsea Island is the largest of the islands in Poole Harbour, with spectacular views across the harbour and to the Purbeck Hills. The island is owned by the National trust with the northern half managed by the Dorset Wildlife Trust. It is one of the few places left in the UK where you can catch a glimpse of a red squirrel.

This has bought back memories, I have visited brownsea many times but not for the last 36years but it is still as beautiful as I remember.
My father was on Browsea during WW2 when it was a decoy island and an old lady Miss Christie (owner) lived in the castle in one or two rooms.
I lived in Poole for a few years before moving to Western Australia, at one stage I used to live in Sanur Bali and flew back and forth to Australia to work in the mines.
