@@Megatrance9000 NISA is not at fault for slow localization, and even if they were the best, fastest localizers ever, they couldn't do it in 1 day. It's up to Falcom to let localizlation companies get their hands on the script and test versions of the game before release, but that's why localizing takes so long. Falcom does NOT provide scripts to work on until post-release. I love Falcom and all but the wawy they deal with localizers promotes the lengthy wait times.

I'm only halfway through cold steel 1, but playing that much has made me a trails fan for life. I bought a steam deck to play the trails in the sky games and I'm hyped that we are getting more of the games released on Playstation
As mentioned, play sky before you get to CS3, and by no means play zero before sky. It's supposed to be like cold steel where it's an optional, if less ideal starting point. HOWEVER pretty much ALL of the heaviest, most impactful scenes in Zero feature a certain character that you NEED to experience in sky SC and third in order to get the impact due to their backstory. That said sky starts slower than cold steel IMO. But by around chapter 3 (in FC) you realize how much the protagonist has grown and it really kinda moves you. It's part of what makes sky so great is you go from zero to hero in a steady, but believable pace. No sudden power spikes or whatever, and it happens on more than just a physical level.
Nothing will ever top that time when Lloyd says to everyone before the big fight, “Wow everyone, this truly was a Trail into Reverie” and then winked at the camera.
Very excited for Trails into Reverie. The fact that we're going to have to have the full cast from Crossbell and Erebonia in the flesh alone makes Reverie something to be excited for.
that already happened in CS4. ironically, I'm actually glad that reverie's english release is years apart from cs4. otherwise, I might not be hyped for what I would call a Cold Steel 4.5 (instead of something new already). that being said, now that I haven't been playing any trails game for the past couple years, I miss the franchise enough that even a CS 4.5 will feel relatively fresh and nostalgic at the same time.
@@Qubicle. Well for one, that did not happen in CS4. Crossbell only had the SSS, and even then it wasn't all the members of the SSS. Not to mention the entire Crossbell cast such as Dudley, Arios, etc. Reverie is essentially Cold Steel V. So much so that it initially was intended to be named said title but instead opted for Reverie. As far as I'm concerned, Reverie is a fresh new title. It may not be a entirely new Arc, but every entry is it's own fresh experience.

I know ppl wanted localizations of the Crosbell Saga, but they 100% should have skipped it and kept moving forward until a day they could release Crosbell without delaying the new games even further (if that ever happens).
@@DakonBlackblade2 Problem is that Zero/Azure are very important games to localize since it will be relevant for Reverie. Unless you emulated and used an english patch to play those games but not everyone are capable of doing that.
@@pochul You don't have to hack to play Reverie on PS4. All you need is a JP region account and then from there you can use a capture card with the Zerofield overlay to play with English translations.
yo this is hype.. I have been a fan of the LoH series in particular (not just the trails) since I discovered A Tear of Vermilion back in 2014, this is great thing to see and it makes me happy that they have been continuing the series. I have loved jrpg games till this day

No what weird is if a crocodilians egg temperature is cool, around 30 °C, the hatchlings are all female. Warmer temperatures, around 34 °C, hatch all males. This is just a common difference between 3d cinematic animation vs model sprite animation.
I'm replaying Sky 3rd myself, except this time I'm experiencing the Evolution version on the Vita/Playstation TV with a translation patch. The Sky Trilogy is so much better with the added voice acting.

@Ryka that's because in the past they didn't want to translations crossbell ark at all. It's still faster than sky. And you can't compare ys with trails since trails is a lot more lore and text heavy. Right now we are getting a new trails game all 3-6 months. This is great!

Since Sony is insistent on keeping this info out of the trailer: this game along with the rest of the series is also on Steam, so if you don't own Sony's hardware, there's an alternative if you have an even moderately decent computer.
The only collectors edition I've gotten is the one for cold steel 4 and I'm really happy I did. Just the cloth poster alone with Rean, Estelle and Lloyd was worth it to me. I still have it up in my room
I’m really glad that these games are coming out in the states. I know Japanese so i played this back in 2020 and it was a great time. I am a bit concerned about the timing of the release window since FFXVI also is supposed to drop summer 2023 (not gonna lie I’ll probably pick that over trails since I’ve already played this one). The problem is that they're taking too long to release them in the west. We just now got Zero and that's been out for how long now? The west is already 3 or 4 full games behind. So by the time kuro 2 comes out over here they might be done with the Calvard arc for all we know. Also super jealous you know Japanese. I've always wanted to learn
Also do NOT Erase the Zero/Azure save files in Japan having BOTH save files for that game including Cleared game save files gives you some free accessories ones that are completely BROKEN but are never gotten normally. If have a Cold Steel 3 and 4 cleared save do NOT Erase those transferring those saves to this one also results a completely broken accessory one also that's normally never found in game itself. I did play Kuro 2 its accessories gotten via Kuro 1 transfer are kind of useless sure those are broken but are actually since found in Kuro 2.
Finally! It will be an unfortunate timing with Final Fantasy XVI also release around the same time though. Now let's hope NISA gets the rights for Kuro no Kiseki 1 and 2 soon as well, so they can continue with that after their well deserved break from Reverie.
funny that the next couple of games are still going to use ps4 graphics. this is the problem with falcom not wanting anybody to translate their work until they are done with the game. but cant deny that the trails series has been the best saga of jrpgs. so far 11 games all conected
@@kigeruse its because of the way they work. The Script will be redone and redone all the time again. They are not using a waterfall Model but many iterations when they will go from beginning of the Script to the end. That's, how they achieve such a great writing. But if you would let translators do their Job before the game is finished, it would cost such a big amount of money, because they would always pay for translations and retranslations

I've been waiting for this for quite some time now, I'm a bit behind since I just recently started sky tc a few weeks back but it's nothing that buying a deck next month won't help fix in catching up with the crossbell games. Next year, I'll gather the rest of the setup that I need for my ps5 so I can start cold steel and eventually both kuro games.
The play order to understand what's going on is: Sky (3 games) Zero Azure Cold Steel (4 games) Reverie Before Dawn (2 games, no release dates for localization) So you would need to start with Trails in the Sky 1
Currently half way on kuro no kiseki , imo the C line of Trails into Reverie is still the best so far. I'm glad that English is not the only language I know, the Lapis voice in the end is pretty attractive though

You should play Xenoblade, Kingdom Hearts, and SMT. I just started playing Cold Steel 1 and have already fallen in love with the franchise
If you're excited to play, than just go play it. This game as been translated for a while now, and you could just support the japanese release.

funny that the next couple of games are still going to use ps4 graphics. this is the problem with falcom not wanting anybody to translate their work until they are done with the game. but cant deny that the trails series has been the best saga of jrpgs. so far 11 games all conected
@@kigeruse its because of the way they work. The Script will be redone and redone all the time again. They are not using a waterfall Model but many iterations when they will go from beginning of the Script to the end.
That's, how they achieve such a great writing. But if you would let translators do their Job before the game is finished, it would cost such a big amount of money, because they would always pay for translations and retranslations
@@kigeruse The textures look stronger in Kuro and Kuro 2, but I see your point - given the fact that Cold Steel was a massive leap from the art style of the Crossbell games, which used portraits instead of character models

I've been waiting for this for quite some time now, I'm a bit behind since I just recently started sky tc a few weeks back but it's nothing that buying a deck next month won't help fix in catching up with the crossbell games. Next year, I'll gather the rest of the setup that I need for my ps5 so I can start cold steel and eventually both kuro games.
Players going in thinking it's just a "filler" game are in for a surprise. Ended up being one of the best of the post CS era, lol.

Before Dawn (2 games, no release dates for localization)
So you would need to start with Trails in the Sky 1

So this game is after Cold Steel 4? I been playing that series and just finished 3. I wanna play the Crossbell games with Lloyd too.
Reverie is a sequel to CS4 and acts as an epilogue to both Crossbell and Erebonia.

Currently half way on kuro no kiseki , imo the C line of Trails into Reverie is still the best so far. I'm glad that English is not the only language I know, the Lapis voice in the end is pretty attractive though
