In 2003 I missed my flight from Virginia to New York, ended up taking an Amtrak train for the first time. Ever since then I have never taken another plane, and have taken Amtrak, and I make the trip from New York to Virginia at least 3 times per year and I absolutely love the ride. And Amtrak has been more reliable for being on-time than the airlines.
Amtrak is highly reliable in the Northeast corridor only. In other regions freight trains get priority and lateness/cancellations are frequent.
Train travel is awesome ❣️
Wifi supports general web browsing activities ... read between the lines: It's not fast enough for streaming or videoconferencing. (Bring along a movie on your harddisk instead.)
Yes, during the day it's often nicer to just disconnect and watch the scenery, but after dark it's nice to have some connectivity.
Hopefully they install starlink.
I live in Philadelphia and have access to the northeast corridor. I'm constantly on Amtrak traveling between all the 4 major cities it connects. It's easy travel and honestly the prices maybe steep at certain times but in this day in age of high gas prices and the ever increasing tolls and the airlines falling apart, it's in the long run cheaper.
Cool. I want to reserve a roomette for my next Amtrak trip and feel like Harry Potter.
They are very expensive. For a one night roomette (10 hour trip) it can cost $450!
@@happycook6737 Yes, I know. It's $243 one way in a roomette between Atlanta and New Orleans. Maybe I'll just try it one way and not both ways? It's only $39 in coach one way.
@@happycook6737 it can yes, the trick is book it way waaaayyyy in advance like 6 months in advance or more. You'll get the best prices then
Great!
Nice get away
