Lived in Auckland for 3 years . Heard of PIHA long before i ever set foot in New Zealand . Everytime i drove out there it was either blown out or closing out LOL Stunning location though as is most of the country :) x
ohhhhh nooooooooo! hahaha thats always the way! I went to the Philippines a few years ago and went to an island called Siargao which is known first and foremost as a surf island - was totally flat the entire time i was there hahaha
Surfed it once in the 90s while up there to see Pearl jam. 6-8ft clean. Remember getting pressed on the bottom at the northern end by that rock headland. Pressed all the air out of my lungs and scared the shit out of me. Highlight was Red Bus in Gisborne 8ft perfect! Then proper mangamanu on the way home. Love the east coast when it's on.

Would be awesome to go out in the surf to shoot sometime - I am always such a baby to go out by myself with the camera which is si weird cause I go out solo for surfs all the time but being without my board feels extra scary hahaha I shoot on a 5div and have it in an aquatech housing! What are you using? I also have all my gear listen in my video descriptions if you want a full list ☺️
