- Hello beautyloving unicorns and welcome to this video where I'll show you some alternatives for building your own Tarte Icy Betch. Horrible name, awesome colorselection! Wish they would make it, because hey Tarte, bright colors is not a joke! :P
Aaaaaaand the point is of course not for you to go out and buy all of these, I didn't say my normal disclaimer in the beginning but yeah... That.s not what these videos is about. It's about shopping your own stash, finding dupes, and then maybe going out one or two shades you are missing and really want.

My friend actually saw an article where someone had asked a Tarte representative about it and they said something about how they were surprised with the feed back and for fans to stay tuned...so maybe they got the hint and will come out with something. I'm hoping!

It would be nice if a company released like a 6 or 9 shade palette for some of the more popular colors. Leave out the browns, creams, all the junk we already have and give us 6 to 9 solid shades of red, blue, green, purple, etc. Carry it online only, on their own sites, make it exclusive, whatever. It'll totally sell if it's at a reasonable price. Seeing what the newest BH palette looks like I'm sure they could do it for under $20 per color. That would be awesome imo.

Jamie Mathis Yeah someone should do like a colorful collection with like 5 smaller palettes (I'd say max.9 shades each) from each color family. Not more than 9 shades though, because then it will be too much. Even this fake Tarte palette would have been too much in my opinion. It's boring to have too many similar shades
I think they could definitely make a colorful palette with half "wearable" colors. Like the teals, burgundies, deep blues and reds they are adding one at a time to palettes. Shout out to Nyx for doing something kind of like that with the elements palettes.
Eil Beauty Agree! A blue green cool version and warm version. A purple/pink. A yellow orange.

I just about screamed with excitement when I saw this pop up in my sub feed! I am SO glad you did this! I was incredibly disappointed that tarte put this out as a joke palette because I would've bought it immediately.

A Heimdahl I hope so also. I’m so tired of all these boring beige palettes. I want something new and exciting. That April Fools was a mean trick. If they don’t I’m going to buy the shadows shown here to make my own palette.
I'm on Devinah Cosmetics' IG right now and they have thrown together a Dupe Bundle (Plus two Highlighters)! 😍I guess that they are in the process of finalizing the Shades so its not for Sale yet but I imagine it will be soon.
Tarte started this debacle and everybody else who Dupes their joke Palette are going to be the ones making Money.
Even if Tarte decides to actually do the Palette, it will be too late - by that time others will have created Dupe Palettes/Bundles.....
They could sue (maybe) if whoever Duped it exactly copied the packaging but they can't sue over the Shades.

Inglot has a small magnet that helps get out singles from your palettes. The magnet is pretty strong. That cornflower blue 😻.

I know it's "just makeup" but I literally died a little inside when I saw that Tarte palette was a joke. I have been looking for EXACTLY this color scheme in a palette for years!! I am that person that buys an entire palette just for that one truly beautiful color and I'm sick of doing that!! Green and blue shadows NEED to be featured on their own in a palette like this! I've been hoping that a company like Huda (like in an obsessions mini) or Lime Crime might finally do it but in the mean time I am writing every shade you mentioned down and doing my best to get them!!! As ALWAYS your choices are perfect!! 💋💋💋💋

Devinah Cosmetics just released a bundle to dupe the icy palette. It’s a bit steep for me, so I will either wait for a sale when they give 35% off or see what Sydney Grace comes out with and also see if she does a Memorial Day sale. I may tell these indie brands to do a bundle deal for the KVD Mi Vida Loca palette and skip the neutrals; people would buy that from them.

I love this kind of color scheme. I feel like DOC should add a blue and a green palette (or even a purple palette) to their monochrome 5 pan palette collection.
Also that green by Juvias is to die for, I'd love a single like that, too. The closest thing I can think of is Voodoo by MUG, but that's more yellow toned.

This is so fun! I think Tarte is so lost, they really need to break away from their 50 shades of beige palettes.

I loved seeing that beautiful rainbow of blues and greens with the message of "hope" at the end.......
My main problem with the pop of colour in the neutral palette, is that it is almost always a shimmer/glitter/metallic. Why can't the throw in some colourful mattes for girls like me who don't reach for eye glitter? I hope somebody takes this idea from Tarte and comes out with something beautiful, because at this point, even if they did release it, I wouldn't get it from them...

I don't understand Tarte at all -_- this would have been gorgeous and they could have gotten such a positive response in thr middle of all of their nonsense. A funny April Fools palette people mentioned would have been a self aware palette with 12 of the exact sane shade of beige xD I got quite the laugh out of that one hahaa

Thanks for making this video, it's very helpful to have someone who curates single eyeshadows and brings up lesser-know/indie brands to attention. It's essential for people who love colour. But I dare to hope that this disaster of an April Fools joke will make brands realise they are missing a huge chunk of the market who's craving for something bold and different. I can see a big brand making a well-curated green, blue or purple palette (REAL purple, not brown/beige with purple-ish tones) and setting a trend. Kat von D or Urban Decay, perhaps? I just want something new without going through dozens of singles or borrowing from six palettes!
Amanda Vargas I have to believe that other brands have been taking notes on this whole April Fools fail.. especially since many brands seem to take inspiration from one another and try to follow trends
@Natalie Marie I hope so. My worry is that they will go for toned down versions because, let's face it, beauty brands are damn cowards. The occasional shimmery blue pop of colour in a sea of beige, the teal with crap pigmentation, purple-browns... It's about time big brands dived head-first into an actual colourful palette that is not rainbow-themed or poorly curated. The fact that Tarte thought this was a joke just speaks of the narrow mindset they are working from.
Yeah I hope we'll see some other kinds of palettes soon :)

I actually loved matte blacks with multi colored glitter pressed in back in late 2016 :o i would use it as a lid color for my red smokey eyes and it looked so good!

OMG, I've been saying the companies not being able to curate a colourful palette for ages! I've been looking for a palette that's colourful, but not brights or neons that i could get several colourful looks out of (and thats not crazy expensive) and i can't think of any (except maybe bh zodiac palette)! I mean compared to how many warm palettes there are, you'd think we should be able to make a few colourful ones aswell, haha.

I don't normally wear blue but lately I've been looking for a matte sky blue. I haven't had much luck finding the exact color I want. This video came at the perfect time. I like the Cornflower from CS but have gotten several shadows from them that were crap so I'm leery about buying more. Candy looks pretty close so I may try that one. Thanks.

Loved this video, thank you for taking the time to choose the colours and hopefully u have the time to do a look using some of the colours.. i totally agree with you, when brands come out with a colourful palette its mainly bright primary colours, instead they should come up with a palette using complimentary colours that have some depth with texture and duochrome included.

OMG honestly I love love loved this video..You showing us all those amazing colors just mad eme rreally want to own all of them (I dont own not one of them waaah lol!) You should seriously make your own palette with all your amazing color schemes you put together bc your looks are out of control gorgeous, & you just knock it out of the park all of the time! Im so loving those colors I cant get over it!! Why the hell havent you came up with your own line I think everyone wuold buy it (1) just for you being you (2) bc you know your stuff (3) youre not scared to take risks & go where most people wont, & that risk always reaps rewards in terms of your gorgeous eye looks.. Thank you for putting this together! I love jewel tone blues and greens so much. These kinds of colour schemes is what I was expecting colour pop's palettes to look like but instead they keep coming out with the same warm neutral palettes with slight shade variations... There's a reason the only colour pop palette I own is the my little pony one 😒

I love this video! What you said in the begining about the lack of palletes of colours within a color family, like various shades of blue or green is so true! I'd love it if there were palletes like that! Tarte had the chance to be innovative and start new trends and they shot themselves in the foot... What were they thinking....
