the thing about this player is that hes a way different profile than any other player in RM except for Modric. I can see him getting game time against teams that play with a low block(90%of la liga teams) because hes got that final pass to unlock defenses. I see him playing sort of a Bernardo silva / isco role, put them at rw but they act as CAM while also having the ability to take players on out wide.

100% not. His ball retention and passing is phenomenal but Messi excelled in every aspect of the game. He's arguably the best goalscorer of all time and is the best playmaker and dribbler of all time. This kid is great and I can't wait to see him play but saying he'll have Messi impact just shows you didn't see Messi back when he was in his prime years.

I can explain to you how Arda could fit in RM's team. Most likely he will be on the bench at the beginning; however, RM is competing in many sides, La Liga, Champions and Copa del Rey. So, it's clear that the team will need to change as the team is advancing in La Liga and Champions. He could replace Rodrygo in many matches in La Liga....or play in the second half in some matches of Champions. Those tournaments are long and demanding. Arda will have the chance to prove that he is very important for the team. Dont forget that this is the last season of players like Modric and Kroos, so his chances will be higher in the future.

As a Turkish person, I have watched Arda a lot. Also, Messi is the reason that I am watching football. Last 15 years I watched every game of Leo Messi. There are some moves & passes looks similar with Messi. He is not even close when it comes dribbling but Arda Guler passing ability is very strong. (He can curve like Marcelo when he is at left side.)He looks like more Mesut Ozil than Messi. Also, Arda decision making ability is very good like Messi. Thats why he is in Real Madrid. He can easily play in Madrid without any training. When Neymar came to Barcelona, It took 1 year to understand what he will do next after receive the ball. Messi was teaching Neymar a lot. But this kid already knows it. He will be very good player in Madrid but I don’t think he can reach Messi level.

Look at Gavi for example, he's not impressive technically nor physically, but he starts for Barca.

@@AlexanderTheGreat222Messi is a statistical anomaly he is a combination of a world class goalscorer with a world class playmaker. World class goal scorers come every few yrs and world class playmakers come every 5-10yrs but world class playmakers and goalscorers combined is basically unheard of Messi is basically the only player to be the best in both attributes. He was competing with the likes of Cristiano who for most of his career was your elite poacher, and he was competing with the likes of Xavi and inesta and de bruyne in assists, I can confidently say it’s impossible that we will ever see another Messi it is more likely we will see another 10 Cristianos in the next 50yrs than another Messi, we just give players unnecessary pressure which can detriment there careers with the pressure in comparing them to the likes of Messi or ronaldo. Messi is kinda a different story while being compared to maradona we could clearly see he was 100% going to become the player he is today maybe not as successful that ik itself is crazy how much he achieved

Yes, highlights can make anyone look good, but ESPECIALLY this season, this kid was performing like this almost every game. Every game he'd make a highlight-worthy reel, give a 1 on 1 throughball etc. Keep in mind, he made all of those goal contributions this season while coming off the bench for almost more than half the season. He took the piss nearly every game he played. He easily has the potential to succeed Modric/Ozil.

Since Asensio left there is no real alternative for Rodrygo. Turkish media reported also that Carlo himself called him and told that he really wants him and will play him. Guaranteed no loan he will stay at Madrid this season. Also it gives Carlo the opportunity to play more formations like 4-2-3-1 with Arda as a CAM. A season is long football is a diverse game you never know what happens, Arda gives RM more opportunities without losing quality. Spot on Transfer in my opinion.

Also, the transition from the Turkish league to LaLiga is huge, regardless of one's talent. So a rotational role while being mentored by the 2 midfield legends with a probably more important role next season is a smart thing for both parties.

Teams in the Turkish league play defense more often than the Spanish league. In Fenerbahçe, where he played, his duty was to open these closed defenses, so if the league he went to was Italy or England, it might be difficult, but the Spanish league will not force him that much. If you don't believe me, you can take a look at former Atlético Madrid's Arda Turana.

    • @Hayatbirtuhaf

You can understand what I mean by the ineffectiveness of Guizan, who became the top scorer of the league with 27 goals in the 2007-08 season, when he played for Real Mallorca, when he came to Fenerbahce. While the Turkish league cannot even come close to the Spanish league in terms of quality, it is a more difficult league in terms of offensive football. Because small teams are full defans and playing counter-attacks tactic.

Also I’m 30 I’ve played at almost all levels except pro, and I’m left footed with a nasty right foot dribbling too and I KNOW for a fact how hard that pass is. I wouldn’t even attempt it because of the angle. I’d either use my right or reposition to more of an angle. But either way 4/10 I could probably hit that and that’s being generous and def not in a game
Also he’s 18 he might not play much but we do have three competitions to play in. He could play in the copa. But if not he will ride the bench like camavinga did for almost a year. Which is fine. He still has room to learn just by being there. He’s not getting loaned out first year he got the 24. He’s staying

I didn't watch Neymar when he played for Santos but I did when he came to Barcelona and he lived up to the hype he had when he became a great player. Since Güler joined Real we will see if he can become the next great number 10 for the team after Modrić and Özil.

Because he is a very talented and quick-thinking player which is a rare feature. By the way, he played against Sevilla in Europe League and impressed everybody with his style. This year he won't find too many chances to play but when he will play he will show his quality and characteristics. Let's see what will happen, but we are excited as Turkish fans. We believe him. 🙂

I agree with almost all of your analysis. But the biggest reason for the low success rate in some of Arda's statistics is; Fenerbahce. Last year, there was no teammate around whom he could shine his quality. Ferdi was the only one who could keep up with his quality. You'll see this if you look at their double play. We've all seen the balls spent from corners in all the videos. Sometimes the team was so bad that Arda wanted to do something on his own and could make some loseballs. Enner Valencia has spent at least 10 assists from Arda. There was no one in the midfield that he could get help from while setting up the game. I think he can turn into an incredible monster in a place like Madrid where there are elite level players.
