    The rise of the right in Europe, former finance minister of Greece Yanis Varoufakis argues, doesn't necessarily translate into a bleak prospect for China-Europe relations. In fact, their survival depends on trade relationships with China.

      “De-risk“ is just a euphemism. You should believe the “free world" when they first described it as "De-couple". "De-risk" is just "De-couple" in all areas of any significance. They are simply going ahead with their Cold War against China. And they've drawn up many a justification for this Cold War, but none can hide their embarrassing need for euphemism to begin with. Their word salads have failed already. In messaging, the "free world" has already become the Soviet Union, and they're fantasizing about winning their New Cold War.

      @@PavillonNoirParis You know nothing about China's history. The British came to China to buy tea and porcelain but they had nothing of interest to sell to the Chinese. When they ran out of silver to pay for the Chinese goods, they forced the Chinese to accept opium. The Opium Wars ensued. China was forced to pay reparations in addition to ceding Hong Kong to them. A weakened China became a free-for-all for European countries and Japan to invade and exploit China. This period is known as the Century of Humiliation to the Chinese. Since then, the Chinese have picked themselves up and is now an economic and military power.

They are dragging off their citizens to send them off to the front lines. and the same with the Chinese everybody that I know who lives in China stated that their economy is taking a huge downturn. That’s why there are thousands of Chinese on the southern border of the U.S. Unfortunately a lot of Chinese had high hopes for China thinking their country is moving on towards democracy just ask any average Chinese person but just my opinion Taiwan is the real China. That’s how China should’ve been just asked any Hong Kong stars that’s why they are all fleeing, but can’t take the wealth with them since China don’t allow you to take out more than $3000 out of the country, which is a damn travesty and you called that freedom but if you misbehave, they will keep their Chinese citizens in certain areas with their so-called 15-minute cities aka social credit scores restrictions imagine not being able to use public transportation or going over to the next town because you didn’t have enough points let that sink in

    Derisking from china is delusional and impossible, EU's best economic decision is to focus on it's competitive advantages with Asia it's closer to Asia than American. Following US around especially on economic policies will ruin EU in general.

    the thing is, china likely doesn't care about right and left from the partician scale, since its quite a poor system,
    there are certain left and rights who agree on almost everything, while ones on the same side of the axis is considered very opposing in views

      Yeah, one of the serious problems Europe have today is the extreme inefficiency of its institutions and bureaucracy. I even suspect that the German Ministry of Interior has no idea why yanis are baned. Because they have no idea, so they use national security excuses to say they can’t give a reason.

    People need to research McKinder!
    ‘The Geographical Pivot of History" is an article submitted by Halford John Mackinder in 1904 to the Royal Geographical Society that advances his heartland theory.[1][2][3] In this article, Mackinder extended the scope of geopolitical analysis to encompass the entire globe. He defined Afro-Eurasia as the "world island" and its "heartland" as the area east of the Volga, south of the Arctic, west of the Yangtze, and north of the Himalayas. Due to its strategic location and natural resources, Mackinder argued that whoever controlled the "heartland" could control the world.

    In the end, China will face the same problem as Iran and Russia. When the United States expanded to the Russian border, Europe followed the United States (Even if there is some verbal opposition). When the United States tore up the Iran nuclear agreement, Europe still followed the United States (Although Europe did not tear up the agreement, they did not maintain cooperation with Iran, which means that Europe actually tore up the agreement). Whether Russia or Iran, they all have deep economic ties with Europe. Moreover, Europe is the party that gains greater benefits from these collaborations. However, neither can change Europe's attitude of following the United States, which is more docile than a slave. Maybe the United States really invented a mind control device during the Cold War

    • @bowenb9336
      @bowenb9336 Месяц назад

      What is even more ridiculous is that before the Iran nuclear deal was reached, China and Iran cooperated on oil and gas projects. When the Iran nuclear deal was reached, Iran immediately dumped China and looked for Europeans. Europe's betrayal of Iran makes the Chinese laugh, but when the same thing is about to happen to China, can the Chinese laugh at themselves like they laughed at Iran?
      If China-EU trade is really cut off because of people like von der Leyen and the Green Party, I believe the Chinese will definitely show an absolutely cold side to the Europe.

      Global south is growing too fast and decoupling with the west is very gradual. In fact, decoupling will end up helping china by developing it's local brands.

      The US and EU can’t dominate the world anymore. China makes everything, Russia have all the materials. What Russia lacks, China can get it from Africa, South America, and other ASEAN countries. Even if Japan, South Korea and the Philippines join the west, they are still the minority. With China and Russia at the helm, the US can’t wage any war. All this silly talk of fighting China. 20 years in Afghanistan against sandal wearers ended up leaving in the night like thieves.

    I think Yanis Varoufakis has been left behind by the latest contemporary independent debaters when he made the mistake a few years ago at Oxford University (Cambridge?) students union, I think it was, by adopting the western mainstream political line when he attacked China and implicitly supported the British rule in Hong Kong, a position he must have thought was solid among the young and best for his career at the time. If so, it was a big mistake, for world politics very quickly changed and the current position of the global south and the majority of countries is now solidly in favour of China. Hong Kong's security architecture, which he disengenuously argued against (to student applause) using words such as "dicatorship", is in fact standard world policy. From that point I for one take what he says with suspicion, and maybe it is no coincidence that he doesn't appear much among contemporary debaters. Nevertheless what he says on the topic of Europe seems right, but I cannot take his conviction at face value.
