We can, and we do, but you're not gonna see all types of police wearing them, though you'll see them worn by police at events like football games or concerts and festivals and when holding up traffic for the royal life guards to come through. Why they do not wear them everywhere, i don't know, but i think they should. It suits the uniform, and as some have pointed out, that little detail may get people to look differently at officers. I guess it's just one more thing to keep track of, though.
