It surprises me that the developers had so little time to make this game, but had the time to put in all these fun little things to do that don't effect the gameplay at all, but simply make the game interesting and interactive.
@@DeepdelverChespin Especially nowadays. Just compare Breath of the Wild to Pokemon Legends: Arceus... BOTW is an utter masterpiece, meanwhile Arceus looks more backward than Windwaker, a game from 2002! It's insane what people are willing to pay $60 for just because Pokemon is slapped on.
I am LOSING MY MIND over them MARCHING. I had no idea! I knew of the Keeta scene and did that often but I'm TOTALLY MIND BLOWN ABOUT THE BREMEN MASK. I would never in a million years think to use it, because I'm always trying to run away from them asap when the battle starts, hahah. Thanks for showing! OH MY GOD. I'm going to randomly think of this several times a day for the next week or two, oop!
My favorite thing about the marching easter egg is that the two swordsmen always exchange glances like "we really doing this?" right before they start marching. With dancing troupes and music (the elegy of emptiness and the song of storms) being so thematic in Ikana, I love that this easter egg creates such an interesting continuity with the other details.
@@morganismthefishslayer9151 😅Yeah. Apparently, they do dance in this game if Link wears the following masks: Gibdo Mask, Garo Mask or even the Captain's Hat! Instead of attacking him. Also according to one of the Gossip Stones in the game, it's stated/rumored that the ReDeads were once Ikana's dancing troupe.
@@PrincessInvaderJai I listen to so many breakdowns and NOT ONCE did anyone say the ReDeads were rumored to be the old dancing troupe. This game just keeps on giving.

Yoshiaki Koizumi is the man. He was in charge of event design, and to put all these little easter egss, and add narrative thorugh tiny bit of dialogues, weird interactions, sign posts, etc. because that was the only way to bypass Miyamoto's eye. Thats why ALttP got the lore of the Goddesses behind the Triforce, the Master Sword. Link's Awakening whole story and interactions was his own responsability. And with the N64 gems: OoT and MM he did make sure the lore, clues, hints, easteregss and narrative details got into the final game in some way or another. And MM was practically his whole idea: the moon falling, Anju and Kafei quests, among all the quest and character interactions (he was the event designer), the time limit mechanic/concept (he was designing at the time a board game that had to be finished in a week, or roughly 7 hours irl time, so he scratched that and used that idea for MM), etc. etc. More people should remember his unvaluable input into the franchise. After his departure from Zelda Team he went into the Mario Galaxy and Zelda franchise lost something hard to describe. He really did put the magic and those narrative details across the map. Without it, I think it became more mundane.
It was the duo between Kensuke Tanabe and Koizumi that fleshed out the stories in ALttP and LA. Tanabe Was responsible for the character interactions and general scenarios of LA, while Koizumi pitched together the overall plot structure of the game.
I 100%'ed this game three times before internet guides were a thing. Tried every single thing I could think of through out the game. The captain mask was obvious to me cause I thought I'd get an easy fight or just straight up skip it. (Even tho I was wrong) Turns out the answer was to make the soldiers march into the light!. 20 years later and I still find reasons for it to be my favorite game of all time!
And then there's the sword teacher's reactions to all the different masks (like if you wear the Mask of Scents, he claims that he's not stinky and that he showers once a month).
Whoa! I've been playing this game for years and I didn't know the Bremen mask can work on them. That's pretty neat. Thanks for showing off this cool Easter egg.
Bruh imagine you get your loyal henchman to guard you from an intruder only for the intruder to put on a little fucking bird mask, pull out a little ocarina and start playing a marching tune only for your henchmen to start marching along
In all seriousness, The Bremen mask can be really helpful at the start of the Fight, as even if you stop it will take some seconds before the two guards go back into attacking you, giving you enough time to shoot a fire arrow at the curtains (It can also be used to get near the guards without the risk of them attacking you)
I'm pretty sure there's another dialogue from Ikana if you get the guards marching behind you right in front of him. I think he says something like, "What are you fools doing", and then they go back to attacking you.
Wait…I actually kind of recall this dialog happening. Did I actually stumble upon the Bremen Mask being able to do this as a kid then, or are there other mask interactions that trigger that same kind of dialog?
I love that everyone found out about them marching with you. My pal and I learned that from me gooning around as a kid. I was fighting them with the bomb mask and then used that one because it's not effective.
I have a request, if you're still taking those 🥺 (+thank you so much for taking the time to make these videos) I haven't seen much LoZ fairy content, or at least, not as much as there should be. A fairy ambience video for any of the games would be much appreciated. The sounds the fairies make when passing by are so nice, and I love them so much. The water sounds in the fairy fountains are beautiful and peaceful. And the string music is *chef's kiss* My personal favorite fairy in the series is the Wind Waker's Queen of Fairies, WW's art style very interesting to me. Even if you don't get around to this, I'm curious. Do you have a favorite fairy? 👀
I actually used the bremen mask for the fight after I found out about this easter egg. If you're fast enough you can take off the mask and land a hit after they stop marching. not a speedrunner tactic but it did make the fight a little easier for me.
Alright, I concede. SO MANY 'Top 10 things you didn't know' videos on so many games I had a 'No-Lifer' phase for. But damn, bud. Been playing Majora's Mask twice annually for the last 12 years and didn't know the Breman Mask did that.
Hey, odd request, but could you possibly make an ambience of the trading post? I would like to use the video of it as a animated background for my PC, and it would make great background noise. Thank you!
Im not sure If I remember it correctly but I think you can play the Song of Healing during the battle and I think the king will say sth like, ah I sense a try to help us but its too late for us. It blows my mind how many little details they came up with putting them into the game
Sabía lo de la máscara Bren, pero jamás en mi vida supe lo de la máscara keeta jajaja. Y siempre me pareció gracioso el detalle de que los esqueletos se miren entre ellos antes de marchar
Seriously, what the HELL?! Why did they put so much hidden stuff and why did I never just try every mask everywhere?! (Probably because it would take too long and I just made assumptions.)
OMGGG i figured out Keeta (coz it made sense with the story) but the Bremen mask! amazing! as well as hilarious it feels kinda anti-war or at least low-key satirical, since the Ikanans seem to have been a militaristic society and it's so easy to dupe their soldiers into becoming "animals marching to someone in a leader's mask"

This will never not be funny. The way they look at each other first like "You hearing this? Should we?"
Love how he just kicks Link away
