Which version of "Mario's Madness" mod do you prefer more? (this video was supposed to come out on the 4th but it took longer to upload than took to make lol)
every v1 song got a huge glow-up, but the biggest improvement in my mind is alone. in v1 it seemed to just kind of be there as a filler song, but now i actually really enjoy hearing it. it used to be my least favorite fnf song, not even just songs in mario's madness. now it's one of my favorite songs from the mod.
I kinda understood and appreciated the vibe that Alone V1 was going for and wanting to make it a very Sombre and gloomy song, but V2 is definitely an overall great improvement that manages to expand on its original premise really well. V2 has that slow gloominess to it without just totally ruining the vibe and it’s a wonderful song to listen to on its own.

Powerdown was really cool especially with how the original one made it look like Mx was as tall as whitty but now Mx looks like he’s capable of stomping a castle to bits
I'm not even sure if you can call Alone v1 and Alone v2 the same song. I can't find a single spot where the two align in terms of music, they just had to completely redo the song to make it amazing.
The only instrument they share is that spooky-sounding trembly build up instrument at the start. It was more prominent in v1 and it still sounds really good at the start of current alone
They did a lot to the visuals of Apparition. I especially appreciate how the shading and cracks on Wario's teeth make them read the words "Game Over" when you lose. Clever artwork.
This is actually such a good comparison video. I love the way each screen pauses to match up, and even the details like the interface glitching along with GB’s laugh

I remember the very first teaser for Mario's Madness V1, where Mario's up and laughing poses were different from their final designs (for V1 that is). The up pose had no teeth, but rather just a gaping mouth, and the laughing pose had a somewhat less melty face than the bloody final version.
You have NO IDEA how much of an improvement V2 Alone and It’s-A-Me is compared to to V1 counterparts. I love the interesting add-ons they added to the songs, such as Alone’s Mario section and Powerdown’s absolutely over-the-top exaggeration of MX being a real threat by simply tearing GF in half. My only slight gripes about the V2 songs is that Race Traitor’s vocals sound much more unnecessarily guttural since they used different chromatics compared to his original, as well as Golden Land’s music being more acoustic than 8-bit to fit with the theme, but they’re both welcome changes. Powerdown went UNNECESSARILY hard like you have no idea how this song went from a 9/10 to a 85/10.

I'll add one more thing to this list, only because it's the only one that has this mechanic. Dodging mechanic: New version (makes a lot more sense rather than just step to one side. Like, come on, MX has the weight of a POW block, bro) *Final Results* : New version: 5.5 points Old version: 0.9 points New version wins my vote.
Wow, someone who really likes the new version of Aparition, I only see bad things about that, mostly Cuz of the vocals. Also, Long life for golden land v2, goes HARD
10:11 - 10:18 Shoutout to this moment where the Old and New text actually glitch out with the music. They didn't need to do that, but it's very much appreciated.
Alone v2 puts more action like "Oh mario i miss you..." While v1 is just depression "...." By the way heres the lyrics when mario painting was there "Luigi.. where did you go? Im stranded lost.. and alone... Oohh mario..."
V1 sounded somewhat calming to me and V2 was a lot more, how to word it? Better at storytelling and cinematic I think. Either way I like both versions.
And the awards for Most Improved go to... Alone (1st place) and It's A-Me (2nd place)! Honorable Mentions go to Starman Slaughter, I Hate You and Golden Land! Jokes aside, those first two were my least favorite songs of V1, and I'm sure at least 60% of the rest of us can say exactly the same. It's A-Me was the pushover of a lifetime in V1, and despite Golden Land being the 2nd best song in the mod in V1 beaten by IHY, it didn't even fit in the slightest as the song directly after the main course. It's a good thing we got Starman Slaughter to take its spot and have Golden Land appear as a surprise! Alone in V1 was just utterly disappointing and depressing as a song overall. In V2 though, it actually explains itself by adding well-known Luigi's Mansion leitmotifs and melodies, and it even gave itself a vibrant makeover, from the more lively song and background, to the BF+GF ghost sprites, down to the fact that the long notes in the song are squiggly because BF is a ghost! It's a good thing that they recognized the flaws they had in V1, and not only did they fix them, but they added a fresh coat of dopamine to everything! I am so glad that the nostalgia is back and 10x better than it ever could've been.
For some reason i think old Golden Lands hits harder except for where they bringed the piano. Also the BoyF glitches in the new version seems to hit harder.
But on the other end, I think the New IHY hits harder than the Old IHY, because I am so used to the old version, or it really does feel like burning in lava for the head a bit. Rest in peace Luigi. If only they pay him more attention
I love the fact that in the new cutscenes how GF walks up to MR M and how she prepares to use her powers and later coming to the realization that she can’t. I also love the what at the end
This has the biggest glow I’ve seen in a mod the sprites are SPECTACULAR the story is actually really good and expanded and I mean EXPLAINED from the last and the music 🎶 GOD I can’t find nothing wrong with this mod! If it’s the end I’m happy with it because it went in a HUGE BANG! 10/10
Its a me v1: HONK A HONK A HONKA HONK *does a dumb little laugh and stutters during it* Its-A-Me V2: Has a good variety to the song *does a menacing laugh that gets more demonic
For me the biggest improvements are Alone and Race Traitors. RT was pretty mid and while there aren’t many add ons to it now it feels and sounds better somehow. Alone I liked as a sad song but as a ‘creepy’ song it ain’t bad either. Lots of improvements especially the sprites and backgrounds. I also like how the instrumental has Luigi’s Mansion ost motifs. Everything else for me goes to V1. Like MX’s ‘wahoo’ and the overall songs themselves from V1. The exceptions being Apparition V2 and It’s a Me V2. Both are very great and Apparition V2 is definitely on par with the original.
I find that It’s a Me V2 bringing out the poison mushrooms later on is a lot better than just having them right away in V1, it throws off players new to Mario’s Madness better
Best part is that the songs are actually fun to experience now. So many of the melodies in the old songs (besides race traitors the old song was just noise lmao) were comprised of the same thing over and over again. Hold notes on one side and then a sort of fast rhythm on the other. Now they actually sound good and are fun to play! Also i hope this was trolling but ive deadass seen people say they prefer some of the art and music from V1... I replayed V1 and was actually like 😐 the whole time what are these people hearing/seeing
Sorry guys but if you like V1 Mario's Madness than V2 you are objectively delusionally wrong. I mean sure it's normal to like some V1 songs more than V2, even me there's OG songs I prefer than V2 like Race Traitors but for the mod as a whole, V1 absolutely gets crushed by the quality of V2.
@@AllenTheAnimator004 Some people did for some reason, and this also extends to some of the worst songs from V1; like, I found 3 people that somehow prefer It's A Me V1 over V2 as an example... I'm not someone that likes to ridicule other's opinions, but that is objectively bad taste.
I see people saying Alone V1 is better than V2 and like, you’re allowed to like it, but after relistening to V1, I can comfortably express that to say that Alone V1 is objectively better than V2 is just wrong. That song is now actually a song.
new race-traitors is really mediocore honestly, I wish they kept the vibe of the original instead of trying to force a fast paced energetic song (and also the instrumental is just extremely overcrowded) I do prefer the original chromatic, but if the song itself was better the chromatic would've been fine

It's A Me is my favorite of the glow ups (I remember not being able to beat Mario in the first song, but then when V2 comes, I enjoyed playing the song and I beat Mario). The only one that I was a little sad about was Alone, as it kind of like the original one, and the SUPPOSED remake sounded even better, instead Alone got a whole overhaul, while it sounds more spooky, I liked the original one more. The only other one that was upsetting, was Race Traitors, I like when the Mario screaming was in it, it gave it the SMG4 feel (though it's not made by them obviously) to it.

I like how powerdown had a good v1 and had a fantastic v2 they are both great! But even though v1 is slower compared to v2 and had no absolute god like cutscene it still had one of the better songs of v1 and had almost no changes with v2 like how it kept some parts!
i honestly like golden land v1 more than v2. not because v2 is bad or anything, but golden land was my fav song in v1, and they kind of personally ruined the song for me. gfs sprite looks degraded compared to the original, the song itself sounds more bitcrushy and pressured (which ik it's supposed to fit the overall 8-bit theme of the song, but i liked how clear the vocals were in v1), and they got rid of the sick guitar in the instrumentals😢. my first impressions on v2gl was it was really dull and that dropped my hype for world 4 pretty low (no party still hits hard though)🔥❤

Idk why people say that v1 is better than v2, let me name the good things about these mods, v1: it's creepy, the hub looks nice and the songs are okay. V2: The songs are better, Unbeatable, visuals look better, mario world hub that looks better than the mario 3 hub, cutscenes are better, each songs in v1 got improved like it's a me, idk how people like v1's version, and the songs are fun to play. V2 is better in every single way possible.
Bro, I prefer almost everything from the old version. 😅 I don't know. It just felt more unique to me. The first two songs sounded like perfect spiritual successors to Sonic.exe's Too Slow and You Can't Run. Now they're unrecognizable. 😔

V1 It's-A-Me is just ok for me. I don't mind it but it's rather mid. 4/10 V2 is almost a different song. If it weren't for the fact they tell you the song name, I would believe you if you said they were different. Went from mid to top 10 easily. 9.5/10 V1 Golden Land is super intense with the loud vocals and booming electric guitar. 9/10 V2 Golden Land is pretty much the same with somehow an even MORE intense instrumental. Shame the vocals were toned down but the song is still BOOMING! 9/10 V1 IHY is pretty great. I mainly love it for the fact they used SMW Bowser's Castle as its motif. I also love IHY Loogi. 9/10 V2 IHY is butts to nuts intense with NO time for breaks. Loogi even had his vocals raised. 9.5/10 V1 Alone is mid, end of story. 2/10 V2 Alone is perhaps the biggest glow up in a song in FNF history. Absolute greatness. 10/10! V1 Apparition is pretty great. Wario is great, sounds great. All around great. 8.5/10 V2 Apparition is also good. I get it doesn't have it's fans because of the vocal change but I don't mind it. 9/10 V1 Powerdown is a GEM! MX is extremely menacing with his imposing stature and eerie instrumental. 11/10 V2 Powerdown is great for the fact they added the False Hero segment, although personally the instrumental makes it sounded a bit cramped but irregardless, WHY IS HE SO G-D TALL?!?!? 9/10 (WAAAHHOOOOOOO) V1 Race-Tratiors is pretty great. I love the fact they included Racist Mario of all Marios. Sounds great and the items are a cool mechanic. 9.5/10 V2 sounds like babble to me. It sure is a song. 7/10
The funny thing with Alone is how both v1 and v2 nail the sad tone of the song, v1 just sounds absolutely depressing and empty, meanwhile v2 does sound better but it gives that sadness of the song still, meanwhile also adding more to it, like the humming Luigi does, which adds to the hopelessness feeling really I’m not saying v1 Is better but it still had that sad tone which I think made it good in my opinion
Wow..this mod is probably one of the best out there now.. anyways opinion time Its-a-me: V2 > V1 100% The most improved (aside from alone) basicly rewritten and it feels like 3 whole songs in itself! Golden land: V2 < V1 I feel,underwelmed...V1 was a mega hit,but v2 just feels,less,intense..V1 has more vicious poses and the mic in V2 just makes it look more relaxed... Both are good dont get me wrong but....im just a bit upset,the potential was so much higher then showcased... This makes me so happy that V2 was actually able to happen. I tend to get impatient with this sorta stuff and I’d been saying to myself that V2 was going to get canned and we’d end up with some sort of unfinished release that just wouldn’t be as good as what we were promised, but holy crap this update was so damn good. It made all of the current stuff 10 times better and then gave us 100 times more than the original in terms of songs, story, animation and just overall it’s clear that there’s a lot of time and energy that’s been spent on this project. Even with some of the songs that I don’t like as much, I can still tell that it was made with a lot of thought and care in mind, wanting to ensure that their mod was released just the way they intended and giving it all of the time it needed to do so.
The gameover scenes improved a lot. Especially Golden Land’s. The horror this brought to the players is insane because of the eerie sounds with BF looking dead. When you press “RETRY” Mario laughs like a beast which so fits his personality. Also, IHY’s was actually pretty cool saying that BF actually fell into the lava… with having the same game over music as Last Course! Apparation’s was also cool because it gave the chills of Wario eating BF, with his teeth spelling “GAME OVER” and seconds after that the narrator says Japanese hidden text. I do not know so don’t think I’m a nerd. Race Traitors was the funniest out of them all considering GF just colliding into a brick wall as a meme! Powerdown was so flipping badass considering BF just got smashed to the ground by Mario’s foot which shows his “sausage organs” which spelt “Game Over”. Overall, best mod of all time, never going to get old, maybe it has now but some people still care for the mod! Also WTF IS THE JUMPSCARE OF THE LAST SECOND OF THE VIDEO!?!

The only song that imo became worse in V2 was Race Traitors, the new one's instrumental feels too crowded and i preferred the old chromatics better (yeah i don't care that the new ones are actually sampled from the animation, the old ones sounded better and reflected Mario's anger a lot better too)
Let me say this. It might Have Gotten a Downgrade But hey racist Mario has. Chromatic atleast give them credits for giving him a actual voice it just needs a bit of fixing to it then it would sound good
Powerdown had also a great glowup. The design and animations improved drastically! Mario is tall as a skyscraper and doubled his height which looked proper badass. GF getting rip and torn apart was the best thing of the song because even though there was a lot of gore, this brought the emotion of BF and actually made him cry immensely. Plus, the vocals improved too which is no surprise!
The fact that alone v2 had almost doubled the time of v1, means that RedTv53 had to make the new song better because he knew the v1 version was the worst song in v1 mario madness because of the trash melody and less effort of the background, even the animations. Alone v2 changed that as it contained mighty changes, for example, the humming melody at the start which shows it will get better later, and it did. BF is a ghost which is super cool, with some touches of his arrows making it wave with the long notes too. Luigi’s design and animation also improved with his vocals. I’m so proud of this change and gives me goosebumps of how I would feel in that same situation. Also, you know I’m probably yapping but the fact that this has hidden vocals makes it super interesting. Mario’s painting says some phrases for example, “Luigi where did you go?” Shows that, Luigi could not save Mario as he is trapped in the painting lost and alone. (Which is also one of the things he says too.) The last thing, I have to say is the background is actually sick and badass as it shows Luigi’s mansion which also explains how Mario’s painting is there. Really Huge Improvement! Keep it up!
Bro Wario’s and BF’s vocals were proper garbage in v1. Glad they made changes to that with lore according to the date, Christmas Eve, 1996. This was a creepypasta of Wario chasing after people. That’s all I’d say unless if I was a nerd like the other people… Also, the rhythm and visuals, even animations improved too in v2! I’m proud.
The only thing I liked a lot better in V1 was Golden Land, I undethst they wanted a more “Game Boy”like approach, but V1’s version was much more chaotic and had better hold notes, the artstyle definitely improved though

I remember the very first teaser for Mario's Madness V1, where Mario's up and laughing poses were different from their final designs (for V1 that is).
The up pose had no teeth, but rather just a gaping mouth, and the laughing pose had a somewhat less melty face than the bloody final version.
You have NO IDEA how much of an improvement V2 Alone and It’s-A-Me is compared to to V1 counterparts. I love the interesting add-ons they added to the songs, such as Alone’s Mario section and Powerdown’s absolutely over-the-top exaggeration of MX being a real threat by simply tearing GF in half. My only slight gripes about the V2 songs is that Race Traitor’s vocals sound much more unnecessarily guttural since they used different chromatics compared to his original, as well as Golden Land’s music being more acoustic than 8-bit to fit with the theme, but they’re both welcome changes. Powerdown went UNNECESSARILY hard like you have no idea how this song went from a 9/10 to a 85/10.

V1 sounded somewhat calming to me and V2 was a lot more, how to word it? Better at storytelling and cinematic I think. Either way I like both versions.

Jokes aside, those first two were my least favorite songs of V1, and I'm sure at least 60% of the rest of us can say exactly the same.
It's A-Me was the pushover of a lifetime in V1, and despite Golden Land being the 2nd best song in the mod in V1 beaten by IHY, it didn't even fit in the slightest as the song directly after the main course. It's a good thing we got Starman Slaughter to take its spot and have Golden Land appear as a surprise!
Alone in V1 was just utterly disappointing and depressing as a song overall. In V2 though, it actually explains itself by adding well-known Luigi's Mansion leitmotifs and melodies, and it even gave itself a vibrant makeover, from the more lively song and background, to the BF+GF ghost sprites, down to the fact that the long notes in the song are squiggly because BF is a ghost!
It's a good thing that they recognized the flaws they had in V1, and not only did they fix them, but they added a fresh coat of dopamine to everything! I am so glad that the nostalgia is back and 10x better than it ever could've been.
For some reason i think old Golden Lands hits harder except for where they bringed the piano. Also the BoyF glitches in the new version seems to hit harder.
But on the other end, I think the New IHY hits harder than the Old IHY, because I am so used to the old version, or it really does feel like burning in lava for the head a bit. Rest in peace Luigi. If only they pay him more attention

This has the biggest glow I’ve seen in a mod the sprites are SPECTACULAR the story is actually really good and expanded and I mean EXPLAINED from the last and the music 🎶 GOD I can’t find nothing wrong with this mod! If it’s the end I’m happy with it because it went in a HUGE BANG! 10/10

Alone is such a stark comparison, I honestly had to go and rewatch the actual song because I really wanted to listen to it again.
For me the biggest improvements are Alone and Race Traitors. RT was pretty mid and while there aren’t many add ons to it now it feels and sounds better somehow.
Alone I liked as a sad song but as a ‘creepy’ song it ain’t bad either. Lots of improvements especially the sprites and backgrounds. I also like how the instrumental has Luigi’s Mansion ost motifs.
Everything else for me goes to V1. Like MX’s ‘wahoo’ and the overall songs themselves from V1.
The exceptions being Apparition V2 and It’s a Me V2. Both are very great and Apparition V2 is definitely on par with the original.
The personality enhancement in horror mario... Even his sprite in It's-a-me is a lot more of a personality change.
For example: even though most the sprites are enhanced versions of the og, 1st the idle sprite looks less insane and more focused.
I find that It’s a Me V2 bringing out the poison mushrooms later on is a lot better than just having them right away in V1, it throws off players new to Mario’s Madness better
the amount of things they changed is crazy when you compare the two.

Best part is that the songs are actually fun to experience now. So many of the melodies in the old songs (besides race traitors the old song was just noise lmao) were comprised of the same thing over and over again. Hold notes on one side and then a sort of fast rhythm on the other. Now they actually sound good and are fun to play!

It's A Me is my favorite of the glow ups (I remember not being able to beat Mario in the first song, but then when V2 comes, I enjoyed playing the song and I beat Mario). The only one that I was a little sad about was Alone, as it kind of like the original one, and the SUPPOSED remake sounded even better, instead Alone got a whole overhaul, while it sounds more spooky, I liked the original one more.
The only other one that was upsetting, was Race Traitors, I like when the Mario screaming was in it, it gave it the SMG4 feel (though it's not made by them obviously) to it.

i honestly like golden land v1 more than v2. not because v2 is bad or anything, but golden land was my fav song in v1, and they kind of personally ruined the song for me.
gfs sprite looks degraded compared to the original, the song itself sounds more bitcrushy and pressured (which ik it's supposed to fit the overall 8-bit theme of the song, but i liked how clear the vocals were in v1), and they got rid of the sick guitar in the instrumentals😢.

V2: The songs are better, Unbeatable, visuals look better, mario world hub that looks better than the mario 3 hub, cutscenes are better, each songs in v1 got improved like it's a me, idk how people like v1's version, and the songs are fun to play. V2 is better in every single way possible.

V2 is almost a different song. If it weren't for the fact they tell you the song name, I would believe you if you said they were different. Went from mid to top 10 easily. 9.5/10

V1 IHY is pretty great. I mainly love it for the fact they used SMW Bowser's Castle as its motif. I also love IHY Loogi. 9/10

The funny thing with Alone is how both v1 and v2 nail the sad tone of the song, v1 just sounds absolutely depressing and empty, meanwhile v2 does sound better but it gives that sadness of the song still, meanwhile also adding more to it, like the humming Luigi does, which adds to the hopelessness feeling really

This makes me so happy that V2 was actually able to happen. I tend to get impatient with this sorta stuff and I’d been saying to myself that V2 was going to get canned and we’d end up with some sort of unfinished release that just wouldn’t be as good as what we were promised, but holy crap this update was so damn good. It made all of the current stuff 10 times better and then gave us 100 times more than the original in terms of songs, story, animation and just overall it’s clear that there’s a lot of time and energy that’s been spent on this project. Even with some of the songs that I don’t like as much, I can still tell that it was made with a lot of thought and care in mind, wanting to ensure that their mod was released just the way they intended and giving it all of the time it needed to do so.

The gameover scenes improved a lot. Especially Golden Land’s. The horror this brought to the players is insane because of the eerie sounds with BF looking dead. When you press “RETRY” Mario laughs like a beast which so fits his personality. Also, IHY’s was actually pretty cool saying that BF actually fell into the lava… with having the same game over music as Last Course! Apparation’s was also cool because it gave the chills of Wario eating BF, with his teeth spelling “GAME OVER” and seconds after that the narrator says Japanese hidden text. I do not know so don’t think I’m a nerd. Race Traitors was the funniest out of them all considering GF just colliding into a brick wall as a meme! Powerdown was so flipping badass considering BF just got smashed to the ground by Mario’s foot which shows his “sausage organs” which spelt “Game Over”. Overall, best mod of all time, never going to get old, maybe it has now but some people still care for the mod! Also WTF IS THE JUMPSCARE OF THE LAST SECOND OF THE VIDEO!?!

Powerdown had also a great glowup. The design and animations improved drastically! Mario is tall as a skyscraper and doubled his height which looked proper badass. GF getting rip and torn apart was the best thing of the song because even though there was a lot of gore, this brought the emotion of BF and actually made him cry immensely. Plus, the vocals improved too which is no surprise!

The fact that alone v2 had almost doubled the time of v1, means that RedTv53 had to make the new song better because he knew the v1 version was the worst song in v1 mario madness because of the trash melody and less effort of the background, even the animations. Alone v2 changed that as it contained mighty changes, for example, the humming melody at the start which shows it will get better later, and it did. BF is a ghost which is super cool, with some touches of his arrows making it wave with the long notes too. Luigi’s design and animation also improved with his vocals. I’m so proud of this change and gives me goosebumps of how I would feel in that same situation. Also, you know I’m probably yapping but the fact that this has hidden vocals makes it super interesting. Mario’s painting says some phrases for example, “Luigi where did you go?” Shows that, Luigi could not save Mario as he is trapped in the painting lost and alone. (Which is also one of the things he says too.) The last thing, I have to say is the background is actually sick and badass as it shows Luigi’s mansion which also explains how Mario’s painting is there. Really Huge Improvement! Keep it up!
Bro Wario’s and BF’s vocals were proper garbage in v1. Glad they made changes to that with lore according to the date, Christmas Eve, 1996. This was a creepypasta of Wario chasing after people. That’s all I’d say unless if I was a nerd like the other people… Also, the rhythm and visuals, even animations improved too in v2! I’m proud.
The only thing I liked a lot better in V1 was Golden Land, I undethst they wanted a more “Game Boy”like approach, but V1’s version was much more chaotic and had better hold notes, the artstyle definitely improved though
