One way to not have to pay as much to fix your screen protector is to go to Tricked Out. You pay a fee to get an account and your screen protector for the first time, then $10 replacements every time after that.
As a former employee of t-mobile i can tell you people dont want to pay $40-$60 each time their screen protector breaks. I always got the famous "ill buy it on amazon or goto five below" then turn around and bring it to the store for us to put it on for them. That was super annoying, but over the years i have learned to do it with a smile because a real sales/customer service rep knows they are building relationships and not treating people like 1 time customer's.

I'm a Best Buy employee, and the Zagg protectors are awesome. You get a lifetime warranty (so every time they break, you can replace it for free, just keep your receipt.) And the bubbles tend to dissipate after about 48 hours. They are easier to install if you use a squeegee or card to flatten it, but otherwise I like them. I honestly will say no, you didn't get scammed. ESPECIALLY for the price with the warranty.

Just fyi, if you go to Best Buy you can pay the people there to put on the screen protectors and yes there’s an up charge for it, but they also replace the screen protector for the life of the phone. Just bring your phone back, they will look up your purchase with your phone, verify and replace it for free as many times as it gets cracked. Just fyi.
I just bought a 12 buck screen protector off of Amazon. It’s been thrown 10 ft into the air, off of bleachers, off of a staircase. It’s a 2 piece and it only has one scratch on the back.
not everyone can afford to replace it every time there’s a minor crack like that. it’s made to crack and protect your phone’s screen as well and the phone is still very much usable

Nah, I had a phone with a broken screen protector that was pretty bad, and everytime I tried doing stuff like playing games or those make your character games (Like Gacha Life), it would hurt me, but I never changed it. It was mostly cause I didn't feel like it needed to change since, yes it was a pain, literally, it still worked.
In the Philippines, you will see a lot of difference in our phones. Its not just a cracked screen protector, its now a lcd display that is broken but still working 😂
