One thing we mentioned, that maybe wasn't stressed enough, is the fact that since COVID, many airlines are more lenient on giving credit for you cancelling or changing your own flights. Some of that is pushed by the government suggesting tighter restrictions and some of that is just plain good will. As we mention, we are able to cancel a flight and get an eCredit for a future flight with no penalty for many of our flights. When Gordon could not attend the Love Boat Cruise, he was able to cancel his flight and use that eCredit for our flights to New Orleans. Something to look at closely with your own airline!

Looking at the Princess EZ-Air options tipped me off that I could fly from Anchorage to Everett instead of Seattle for 1/2 the price! It also made me arrive just a few miles from home. I ended up booking myself, but I was glad that I had looked at EZ-Air.

    Allison,
We are currently on the Enchanted Princess. We departed Fort Lauderdale yesterday. We are Platinum Captain’s Circle cruisers. In less than 24 hours we have taken note of some changes in the Princess experience. We don’t drink alcohol so we don’t purshase the enhanced packages. We always buy bottled water and canned soda through Princess beforehand. The water is always in our cabin when we board. The sodas are delivered shortly after we tell our cabin attendant what our choice is. Not anymore! Our Stewart told us to call room service to have it delivered. Room service doesn’t answer the phone on sailaway day! Finally late last night we had our drinks delivered.
We used the Medalion app to make dinner reservations. We arrived on time and had to wait almost an hour to be seated! Why did we bother with reservations? The food in the dining room was good!
Princess no longer furnishes the blue Princess tote bags to guests.
There seems to be a general degradation of the product that Princess cruisers have come to appreciate.
    What’s going on?

Booking with cruise line no matter what just know that you are not really in control of your booking and that can bring problems. The only advantage is if the cruise line cancels/changes dates or times they then have to deal with the airline to get the refund or flight change. But just buy good insurance.

My rep at HAL (Personal Cruise Consultant) has been great with my flights. I sometimes look up the discount sites to get an idea of what they are going for & usually HAL flight ease has better pricing. My upcoming Trans Atlantic in April, after my Hawaii/French Polynesia cruise, embarks Easter weekend & the price on flights was ridiculous, so I backed it up a couple of days & while I'll have an extra $300 in hotel, my flight was only $283.00Can., one way with one stop in Dallas to Ft Lauderdale. By going early I saved about $1500.00. Also worthy of note, we investigated & found it cheaper booking 2 one way flights. This is not always the case, but this time it was worth it. Oh btw she found me a direct (From Amsterdam to Vancouver) KLM flight for $632.00Can. Anyone booking flights should take the time to investigate whether they can book cheaper by doing one ways instead of round trip. Sometimes you can save money.

Started flying to Fort Lauderdale the day before the cruise after your flight was delayed for 8 hrs out of BWI and Princess held the cruise till we got to the cruise port, luckily it was booked through Princess Air. We now always use princess air out of Denver with United. United has non-stop flights to Fort Lauderdale. Have never had a problem.

BE AWARE! When we booked our cruise we were over a year out. I didn't even look at airfare until later. Our cruise is Athens to Rome. To get airfare it has to be 2 one-way flights (Denver to Athens, Rome to Denver), which were almost triple the cost of flights we found with EZAir. So I'm not thrilled to use EZAir and hope things go smoothly, but if we had to book directly with the airline, we probably couldn't have afforded to go. It is better to book a cruise that starts and ends in same city! 😊

I love princess ez air...it allows you to shop for a lower price up to 45 days before...and many times I have found better prices! I love that you can choose your flights and change your mind up until 45 days before the cruise. I'm going on the search for the northern lights cruise and have already changed my mind about how early I wanted to arrive in Southampton. Also that is also a great way to decide if you can financially afford the cruise as you can get a flight quote!

I too noticed Princess EZ Air was delaying in paying for our tickets. It was sad to see them try to save money this way. Since then I've booked my own flights. Hope some day in the future EZ Air returns to the wonderful service it used to be.

Connnie & I have a cruise booked on Princess that leaves from Ft Lauderdale and goes to Iceland, Norway, Scandinavia & the Baltic later this year. Normally I just book our flights on Delta, but when you try to book a return flight from Europe without flying over to Europe the prices are much, much higher. Like $2,000 per person or more. Booking thru Princess EZ-Air we are returning from Copenhagen to MSP for a little over $700 a person in premium economy class, whereas it was going to be over $3,000 a person just for regular economy class booking directly thru Delta. I see our flights and seats are already showing up on the Delta website. So hopefully this means Princess EZ-Air wouldn't be changing those for any reason. But when we fly to a US port for a roundtrip cruise I will probably continue to book directly with Delta.

@crimlarksSteve Hi Steve and Connie, I am so glad to hear you were able to find a much better price booking through Princess EZair. I know there are glitches everywhere but I do think Princess EZair is still a really option. We all just have to keep an eye on our flights and be flexible. Thank you and take good care.

I haven't used Princess Air, but I used Carnival Air to Seattle and then home from Sydney Australia for my transpacific cruise last September, and it was on Delta. I always fly Delta it all went wonderful & smooth & I hope this vlog helps others. Thanks for telling everyone your experiences because some get stressed over flying. I don't mind flying and just going with the flow on travel days, but others can't, so hopefully, this will help those with their travels

I just read somewhere that one of the cruises' airlines had changed someone's ticket to get the plane at 7am on disembarkation day. We all know that 7am is WAY to early, even though the ship is scheduled to arrive at 6:20am.... they simply "ain't" going to make it.

I had used EZ air originally with my upcoming cruise. They got me the perfect flights on Alaska Air for a great price. About three months later that flight changed from being a direct flight to having one stop. Not great but doable. Three more months pass and we are within two months of the cruise and the flight changes again to terrible flights with very short window to get connecting flights. The one going one left at 0600 the returning flight left at 2145. Terrible times for us. I went to Alaska Air and found far better flights and back to being direct flights. I called EZ air and gave them the new information and was told I could not have those flights through them. So I ended up cancelling EZ air and booking directly with Alaska. The new Alaska flights were cheaper than the ones I originally got with EZ air. I am still waiting for my refund from EZ air.

Currently on the Discovery. I’d recommend booking your own as EZAir doesn’t give you as broad of a choice for airlines. To get a flight with Alaska Airlines we almost always have to book ourselves. EZ seems to be more east coast oriented. Plus we use miles and awards from Alaska so it’s much le$$ for us. And waaaay more flexible with changes.

Not always true. Had an EZ-Air rate for a cruise with a lay-over connection (flexible). Soon after found a direct air flight at a cheaper rate. Guess which one I took? We hadn't made final payment yet and Princess deducted the EZAir from our cruise charges.

I Tried EZ air one time. We were traveling from Hawaii to Barcelona Business class. Our reservations were booked and paid for. Two weeks before our fight they changed our fight from a 23 hour flight to a 36 hour fight. A 9 hour lay over in Chicago starting at 5 a.m. and a 5 hour layover in Zurich. Contacted them and they said there was nothing they could. No more EZ air for me.

Princess EZ air abandoned us mid trip going home. Our connecting flight was canceled and the airport was a zoo (in Europe). We would have had to leave the secured area and get in line at ticketing because that’s where United sent us due to low staffing. (Due to ticket type, United would not help us on the phone.) We called Princess EZ air for help and they said once we took off on the first flight they were “out”. If I had booked directly with United I would have been helped on the phone immediately. Needless to say I no longer use Princess EZ air

    ,
Some very valid points, our recent experience here in Australia was not positive perhaps because the Princess agent was totally useless. We could not even get a quote on a direct flight we wanted from Auckland to Perth as they wanted to book with what appeared was the airline they get the best prices but ment stops and plane changes. We decided to do our own bookings whilst our son and his family used their service only to have their flights changed at last minute loosing their pre booked seats etc and it was only after a serious discussion with someone else at Princess were their original flights re instated. It was the first time we did our bookings direct with Princess and must say I was not impressed with the booking agent who never answered one question we asked and next time think I will go back to using a travel agent.

We will not book our flights through EZ Air ever again. We were supposed to go on a Princess cruise to Alaska last year. We had flights booked from Nashville to Seattle on the day of the cruise. The Delta flight got delayed 4 times. We called EZ air and were told the ship would not wait on us, even though we had also bought the insurance through Princess. The only option they gave me was to join in Juneau, but we would have to get new Covid tests. We had to cancel our trip while at the airport. Delta gave us proof it was their fault. The insurance denied our claim because we had to cancel the day of the trip. Princess only reimbursed us for everything at 75 percent. When we called Delta, we were told that they would have reimbursed us at 100 percent of what we paid. Instead they reimbursed Princess at 100 percent of what they paid for our ticket. We feel like we got screwed over by Princess and the insurance policy! 😢

We are stuck! We have NCL air and I didn’t realize that we can’t request or go on the same flights as our friends we are traveling with!😢 we are going to Trosmo Norway and on the way back from Iceland. Our friends have never been on a cruise or traveled outside the USA so they are not happy! Plus we live 1.5 hours from the airport and are carpooling to park and ride again, I’d they have different flights we can’t do that. If we cancel the price is double because we booked with a buy one get one airfare. Never again

This is not to do with princess but with HAL. We woke this morning to a disappointing email saying they are cancelling one port Skagway and adding Victoria on our cruise to Alaska in May. When we signed up for the cruise they advertised the 150 anniversary cruise that included the white rail pass excursion valued at $150 each. So we lose that and the port. Should we expect compensation for this loss? What are your thoughts?

The last and final time I used Princess E Z Air British airways lost my luggage on a so-called cruise tour of Italy.....I had to go from LA to Heathrow and the time between flights was 45 minutes and we had to walk all over the airport to get to our next flight....When we came back there again was 2 stops and we only had 25 minutes to get to our flight.....Lucky for us the plane was waiting for some VIP's otherwise we would have been left behind.....NEVER AGAIN......STAY AWAY FROM PRINCESS................
