I dunno why they don't just do normal old TRs, during the event you could find a couple of them through special research, and find a frenzy plant. Then it could be applicable to all mons that could learn frenzy plant, and any time in the future, not just a small number you found within the days window. That would definitely get people playing even if it's just to hoard the TRs
they want you to buy elite tms or get them for pvp for that. plus note can alts to use their elite tm on a pokemon like a legendary to get the moves but then trade randomize stats best to wait for lucky friends.
Actually, all December com days with the exception of the first year have only ever been that year and the year before. The first that had something two years ago was 2020 and that did not include 2018 pokemon. They were always two days for like a full day with some hours that have standard CD odds and rest of the hours are still boosted outside of that time, just less.

If you evolve a shadow pokemon during a community day that hasn’t had frustration removed, I understand it will still be frustration, but if you do evolve it during a community day but then teach it a new move during team rocket takeover, will that move be the community day move since I evolved it during the community day? I’m guessing no. I tried evolving a shadow pokemon that I had taught a second move during a community day and they did not learn the signature move. So I’m thinking the move might be there and needs unlocked? Maybe not, just made me curious

It won't learn the legacy move if it still has frustration (even if you teach it a 2nd attack). Really annoying as I have a couple of good shadow mankeys to use as prime and annihilape but haven't had an event that allows you to TM away frustration recently
I just evolved a shadow quilava to typhlosion but made sure to unlock the second attack before evolving and the second attack is still fire blast. Does this mean once I tm frustration off it should be blast burn?
You need to TM Frustrstion before you evolve your Quilava. It's a particular wording "Quilava evolved during community day will evolve into Typhlosion that knows Blast Burn". If it's already a Typhlosion, it can't evolve again to learn the move. The first move slot is what is coded to become Blast Burn when you evolve a Quilava. If it's a shadow Pokemon with Frustration, the move won't be changed, because of how changing the move revolves around Rocket takeovers.
Yeah am on any giving season with just adding or making a move better… Shadow C to Ferarigaotr or Roll O got better ( Milktank, Licklik, Dunsparce…) Don’t over think it! Like he does otherwise you will regretted like many others!

Re: the value of a shiny going down. I'm not a huge shiny hunter. I'll take 'em, and happier when I get something with desirable IVs and also shiny, but I'm broadly speaking more about their performance. (Still a tiny bit bitter I didn't get any shiny rayquaza yet despite raiding them as hard as I could the few times it's been out for me). Still feels nice to have some mildly unusual stuff (eg: my shiny vespiquen) but that doesn't mean I wouldn't *love* a combee com day with triple stardust from catching! Everyone else in town can get a shiny vespiquen if that means I get a couple million extra dust. I do have work tomorrow morning, and do have some Christmas stuff to do too this weekend, but I should be able to get out for some of this. Hopefully grind for a decent bit for XP, stardust, and maybe something decent. Never did get a hundo goomy for master league, Catching what I can, hopefully get a shundo or three, maybe a regular hundo. Shame the community day classic stuff isn't spawning outside of those last 10 minutes. I want all the beldum. Still have loads of incubators, so hope to hatch 10x12km and 2x10km eggs tomorrow then get a bunch of 2ks I can just use the infinite incubator on. I expect nothing from the comm day eggs, but y'never know. Might get a hundo, but if I do it'll be noibat for maximum uselessness. The main appeal is definitely the moves. Couldn’t agree more with the shiny opinion. Community days devalue every one of these shinies. I care so little for shiny Pokémon. I’ll take good IVs over a shiny every time.
It would be easier (and generate more revenue) if Niantic released full weekend community day with all pokemon available so far. This way, ppl who missed a CD and ppl who returned to the game after years of absence would benefit. The way they're doing just makes the event something I could easily skip instead of generating excitement. There is no vision. Oof...
Incineroar is actually a great Pokémon for UL and solid in limited GL metas. Same for Decidueye, so definitely get those if you can! Primarina is also really solid for UL and ML Premier/Open ML
Featured attacks are the scummiest part of a largely scummy game. The whole TM system is garbage. I never recommend Pokemon that require Legacy moves. It's another tax on newer players.
@ lol well, it sucks for everyone, but at least seasoned players have had opportunities to get Pokémon with the moves. If someone starts playing next week, who knows how long it will be before they can get some of these moves again without paying? I waited a year and half to evolve my first Beldum 😂

As far as I am aware, it MUST be evolved during the event with frustration removed. The second move can never become an event evolved move.

Niantic is so awful that I realise I only played one off those community day seriously this year and I managed to only pay for one ticket.
So the special moves with evolution only apply if you do it in their “featured day?” I just evolved my shadow mankey and didn’t receive rage fist.
