Lots of people asking what it's called.... the easiest way to find this RC Car is to search... 'HS 18311 RC Car' It's here>> s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_Aborxf
I picked one of these up years ago for £25 on Amazon only things that went wrong was the rear dog bones twisted and I killed the motor but that was my own fault for letting it get so hot 🤣
Fun! Thanks for promoting something that's just pure fun, very practical and not too serious. As many of us know from experience, no matter how well made an RC anything is, outrageous speed + a little stupidity (or lack of ability) = breakage. This little guy certainly prevents much of that.
Just want to say that I love your videos. You are very entertaining, enthusiastic and down to earth. My second favourite RC channel! Keep doing what you are doing sir!!!
Hey Tomley - got my 4 Yr old started with this... 2 years ago! On your recommendation - great car, loads of fun and pretty indestructible. Time to buy a new one for my almost 3yr old! 👍👍👍
I just ordered some of these to race with my family, then I noticed it's the same car as my Revell Cross Storm. Just a different shell. So I ordered some more! The Cross Storm got me into the hobby along with the Carrera Drift Racer PX, I love it and it's great to see such an affordable car get your vote! At the price I paid, I would take it over the mighty WLToys 144001 or epic 124019. Not as fast, but fast enough for its size, decent on grass or offroad, lovely on gravel, and I always smile when I drive it. Cheap enough to throw around. No issues yet. Love it!
Definitely a kindred spirit, man! I have a track in my backyard and it’s loose and narrow. I’ve been getting so much joy out of brushed, less expensive stuff like this. You know I want one!
Just got my dad and I brushed 2wd slashes, honestly some of the best fun you can have almost anywhere you go. I have an e revo 2.0 but there aren’t a ton of places near me that lend themselves to such speed and size 🤣
Have been racing 2 of the Helivator K "Motivator" (TOPNAME#1) versions of this truck in the garden today, amazing fun and quite quick! can launch itself quite happily off a dirt berm! hit more or less everything there was to hit and and doesn't damage either itself OR garden stuff, which may or may not be high on your priorities. This version also came with 2 batteries each of which last over 20mins, I am actually amazed by that tbh, must be just sniffin the juice man.EDIT TO ADD It also has a THREE WIRE servo!
I bought two of these for my younger boys (5 &4 at the time) off your recommendation about a year ago. I’ve only had to replace the differential gears with the metal ones and some dogbones off of normal wear and tear. One of them got run over by an actual car and all I had to replace was the body and a wheel to get it back in top shape after that. I love these and highly recommend them as well. Thanks for recommending these.
I agree with you 100% Phil. I had one just like it! Ended up recently giving it to a little kid down the street. Hope he’s having fun with it , because I sure do miss it!!😜🍻⭐️👍🏻
Just come back to electric after a year with 5th scale petrol. Electric is so much more fun. I too have spent about 1k in the last 3 weeks because of this channel and kevin talbot. I need to stop my children are wasting away.
In the last three weeks ive bought an xmaxx, erevo, 1/16 erevo, x0-1, a yuneec typhoon h and a dji mini3. I just made an offer on a losi motocross bike. I havnt had an rc since 90's. Xmaxx. And then the bug bit me again. Oh, i just bought dji goggles and camera and am setting it up so i can place it on all the cars. Mid life crisis? Probably 😂 im havin alot of fun. I didn't think id ever take them to the skate park but i did and its awesome. That losi motocross bike at the skate park is awesome. Seriously. It launched and lands perfect. It carves the bowls great. It will wheelie hundreds of feet . To cool. Cheers!
Thanks for this video. This is exactly what I was looking for... I wanted a super tough, and not super fast, rc truck for my boys, (8 and 3), that was from China. Just got 2 of them locally in China for $60.
Thank you for this recommendation! Been looking for a decent, entry-level RC ever since a co-worker picked a pricey Traxxas. Mine just came in after months of shipping delays, but I'm loving it!
I have a prerunner, cost me $199 and I keep breaking it. For $50 you can't go wrong with this little rig. Especially with those 5 reasons. Being able to hit yourself and not get hurt is a pretty good selling point. I've got a 2 year old that loves to watch my cars rip around... just like kev says " the best rc is the one that puts the biggest smile on your face" Cheers mate can't wait to see that rival get sent to outer space 👍
The one I gave my granddaughter has lost 2 speed controllers so far. First time was when she went through a small puddle in the driveway, second one died when she drove into wet grass on the lawn. Oher than reciever/esc water problems, there have been no other issues. Her sister has the same problem with the WLToys 969. Avoid water unless you open them up and waterproof everything, and they seem to hold up fine.
Purchased a truck very similar to this for my son at the start of last year's Lockdown. Got myself a Losi mini T (didn't shell out on a mini T for the boy cuz I predicted he'd enjoy driving into walls. I was right!😝). Certainly been worth every penny. Lots of fun, and almost bullet proof.
I own two of them. Even some spares from wltoys fit on them. Great fun. The hs 18311 was my first hobby gradish rc two years ago. Thanks to your review tomley. Since then I am hooked.
LOL I have to say your channel got me back into RC. This car is cool I will order this. I have just ordered a jjrc Q60. Mostly I love the look of it. Also it will be fun to upgrade I think. But this little car is cool and from what I saw on the video its TOUGH! Going to get one for my woman also she will like to mess around with this.
If you haven't made one rear wheel drive yet I highly recommend it. I did mine and it's faster, quieter, has much better steering and longer battery life. You lose off road grip sure, but on pavement/road/light gravel it's a lot of fun.
Got one of those for my 6 yr old (Revell branded) and he absolutely loves it. Costs about 50-60 EUR here in Germany and it´s more durable than my own 144001.
I’m trying to find if you have a video with the upgrades that you made for this car and I can’t find it. If you have a link I would appreciate it. Or I better get the brushless version?
Got one for my 6 year old to get him into the hobby. How this thing still goes is a miracle, bashing the hell out of it. Even after hitting wall flat out twice all it has a crack on the body shell
The chance to finally have an associated vehicle after 20 years of waiting? Sure, ill subscribe! Wish it were a rc10T3 (or whatever the modern equivalent is, Ive been waiting for a long time but never have the money) but hell, just owning an associated truck is one step closer than I'll probably ever get!
Oil filled shocks (lack of) is my biggest annoyance with some of these cheaper ones. They do not cost a lot to add on... and it would make the RCs much better
I think the Bezgar 9145 1/20 truck. You can shave off the battery holder and have a flat chassis to strap on any battery for that 40amp esc. I'm about to upgrade the 20,000rpm 180 to a carbon brushed 38,000rpm 180 that says it can take 11.1v....so they really mean like 5s
Thank you for this, Tomley, I´ve been looking for a cheap basher that doesn´t break easily or is cheap to repair. I´m definitely getting one....or two!
Love the channel. My first time posting. I'd love it if you could share any info you have about the 1/18 hpi Mini Recon, e.g parts that fit, what happened to hpi? That sort of thing. 🤣😂😂😂, love your videos and reviews. I think you've got the best job in the world. After 20 years of not having a rc car, i just can't help myself to buy one. Any recommendations on what to purchase as i am ready to buy?
noob question! do you know why my car makes a long beep while i am at minimum throttle? what did i do wrong in the calibration? or its supposed to be like that?

Have u done a video on the Rival MT that's always in the background? I'd like to know more about it. Never mind, I didn't watch this video long enough before this edit. I want it?
Is it possible to restrain the maximum throttle on this one? I'm just getting into RC cars myself and wanted to buy one for my 3 year old with proportional control and steering. He has other cars with "on"/"off" throttle and steering and is loving it. But too much speed is difficult to handle for him for obvious reasons. 😁
Excellent for the 1/18 scale, another good thing you can get away with some wltoys A959 ect parts. Not sure about the diffs but some parts are compatible
Epic!! I have ordered one, would you be able to run 3s on it without smoking the esc? I think the motor could easily handle 3s but what about the esc? dont wanna smoke my new toy lolll
Could you recommend an RC under £100 that would make a good low speed RC capable of carying decent weight? I want to create my own chassis with resin / metal (kinda like a roboto rover).
You are absolutely right! The Best value and funfactor comes with these little vehicles. My overall best rc car is e-revo 1/16 and car I have had longest period In my collection.

Very cool little rig. Think I'll be getting one so my dog has something to chase around the yard. Thanx for the video.
Perfect to keep the dog happy!

There’s definitely something to say for the portability of the little guys! 💯👍🏻
Have a great day mate and be safe out there!
Thanks dude. 😎👌
I have one of these little guys and it's my back garden thrasher, it's bashed into patio chairs, the deck and the wall and it's brilliant, love mine
Yes, my daughter has given one of them lots of abuse and it still takes it!
Definitely a kindred spirit, man! I have a track in my backyard and it’s loose and narrow. I’ve been getting so much joy out of brushed, less expensive stuff like this. You know I want one!
Perfect for the garden! Even better racing a couple together
Just got my dad and I brushed 2wd slashes, honestly some of the best fun you can have almost anywhere you go. I have an e revo 2.0 but there aren’t a ton of places near me that lend themselves to such speed and size 🤣
I have fallen in love with the idea of this RC. Thanks. I got one on the way.

Oof a bit of BFMV in the money cutscene was perfect hahaha
Just ordered one from ebay for £37. Was going to get a ftx carnage as my first proper rc but saw this video and changed my mind!
Hey so what is the car called when I searched it up a bunch of other rc cars came up except the one in the video
Few years ago I bought a 1/18 brushless from gearbest for about $45. Absolutely bargain. Still working perfectly.
Wish we had these RC toys when I was a kid 60 years ago it was just a dream then !
I'm a bit sad you didn't do some coverage on the brushless. I think it looks cool but not sure if it will hold up as well as the brushed.

@@TomleyRC friendly heads up. The link you put doesn't ship to the UK. There is another one in store that does though.
I'm actually testing out the Bezgar 5. its proving to be really good for the $60 price point AND it's handling 3S like a champ
