I used to have a saskia by Adrie Stoete that I reborned years ago! I loved her but unfortunately sold her and have regretted it ever since! I had the original kit from back in the early 2000s. The arms on yours are different than the arms on the original kit probably because the original arms were disproportionately long and looked strange but your baby’s arms are sculpted by Adrie Stoete. I agree with you about the German vinyl! It’s so nice and takes the paint really nicely!😊 it’s so great to see that little face again!

One thing I've noticed is how much I seem to favor Adrie Stoete's sculpts above the others. Their little faces are so adorable that I'm just automatically drawn to them before I even know who the sculptor is. Thank you so much for the education on prototypes, and German dolls. Thank you 😀 It's amazing to see how many collectors and reborn artists are coming forward to say they are not happy about the authentic kits being produced in China. Personally, I think the authentic kits made in China cheapens the overall art. When it comes to the doll industry, these hyper-realistic, high-end, hand-made, art dolls should be made with the best quality products. I have a number of German manufactured dolls in my collection and the vinyl is far more superior to the Chinese vinyl. I have to say after this box opening I am a HUGE fan of Puppen Traumland's german vinyl. It is gorgeous! Apparently many sculptors have claimed they have moved their manufacturing operations to China to "save money" but I am yet to see those savings passed onto their customers. Then there is the issue that these sculptors don't protect their work properly with the appropriate intellectual property and complain when their work gets copied. I think it's appalling that some sculptors encourage collectors to bully those who buy Chinese factory made Reborn dolls. People who simply can't afford authentic reborn art dolls, so they purchase Chinese factory made dolls to "save money". It's interesting how it acceptable for some to "save money" but others are not allowed the same privilige.

I started reborning in 2000 and when reborn kits first started being produced for us artists to reborn they were all made in a Germany im pretty sure. I started out reborning Adrie Stoete and Elisa Marx and Lilianne Breedveld kits. They were my favorite artists. When the Chinese vinyl came out I hated it because I couldn’t get the paint to stick and the vinyl would just repel the paint.

On some sites that sell the kits it's like they don't want the collectors knowing because they would start to question why the Chinese kits cost the customer more than the German vinyl kits. I kid you not, I found quute a few german made kits that were much cheaper than the Chinese ones.
