I have a theory about Hatemonger's legion. The reason why the skeleton said, "Or I'll send you back to your own legion" is because his legion loves "woohoo" aliens, so he voluntarily left his legion, and that's why he's the only star defender in the team who ignores the alien filth bob.
Im new to the whole 40k lore. But is there a set or faction of "Defenders" that loses their minds in rage if their armor gets a crack or dent? Also I like the the Apothecary.
This reminded me of a book. In it, cultists destroyed a communications tower on a mining planet. Right during the orc invasion. There was no communication with the fleet, and in the besieged cities people began to go crazy with despair and worship Tzeentch. After the orcs, the guards also had to deal with cultists and a demonic invasion. Only three people survived (Commissar Holmg, Inquisitor Alonso Barro and nun Alita Stein). Cool book, one of a whole series (series about Commissar Holmg). But not canon. Russia is full of such books. GW has nothing to do with them.

The first two books in the series about the Commissar of the Imperial Guard, Atia Holmg. The book contains obscene language.
It is more like Blood Angels. Red is brighter and those can have blue helmets on certain squads. The Blood Ravens never use blue helmets beside Librarians.
