Four reasons why I predict Mayweather will knock out McGregor.
1. Wide open shots.
Conner's wide open and slow shots may have worked for him in MMA where fighters are NOT trained to exploit that weakness. Floyd can land two or three clean shots through one of Connor's wide shot.
2. The gloves.
I've always thought that MMA fighters get most of their "perceived" punching power form the lack of real boxing gloves. MMA gloves are more of a protection to the fighter's knuckles than anything else. As a result hitting your opponent with barely any padding has usually a more devastating effect on your opponent than it would with boxing gloves. A weak puncher in boxing could be a devastating puncher in MMA. But the same could not be said the other way around.
3. Stationary targets.
Conner is used to getting a clean shot at his opponents primarily because MMA fighters are not trained to bob, weave, slip, backpedal, duck your head . . . .and so on.
4. Frustration.
All of the above will lead McGregor to become erratic in an effort to get to Mayweather. This will give Mayweather clean open shots that during the course of the fight will accumulate to a knockout perhaps in the middle rounds.

McGregor's punch placement is pretty impressive. WTF was that with Floyd taking a cheap shot and knocking the guy out as they touched gloves? And half his "knock outs" were glancing blows that look like thrown fights for betters.

mcgregor is a southpaw, floyd has had alot of trouble fighting southpaws because he defends by lifting his left shoulder infront of him when he is up on the ropes. mcgregor has more power than floyd especially with his left hook. one or two landing can win him the game. the question in my mind is how well will his precision striking work with a boxing glove? floyd is the worlds best defensive boxer, he moves fast and he counters fast. his counters essentially rack up like points for the final decision and just like all of his other fights, he will take this one to the final decision. What will really hurt mcgregor is his stamina. floyd will maintain his energy level through out the whole fight, but mcgregor will be too tired to do anything after a few rounds which could make it a very unentertaining fight after that. lt would be in mcgregors best interest to win the fight within the first 4 rounds. mcgregor should also learn how to properly guard because he doesnt want to be caught with a bad hit anywhere during the fight. He has a good chin, so i dont know how that will work out. numbers aside, these fighters are polar opposites and i will personally be very happy if mcgregor beats mayweather because if it ends mayweathers way, everyone will die of boredom.
One thing I realized is that McGregor is horrible at blocking, I'm really looking forward to seeing this fight. I hope Floyd wipes the floor with him and McGregor can stop being so dang cocky
