    Great vid Nick. 👍
    About the only vid on Kubu that has actually mentioned that there is a reception facility there. If u listen to ASPW and others you would swear that they were in the middle of nowhere miles from any civilization. Good one.👍

      Thanks Alan👍 I guess channels feel they need to "stretch the truth", probably for more views... Pls call me out if I ever do that🙂 Kubu is only about 45km from Mmatshume and up to there is a tar road...

    Thank you. Great video of the Pan crossing and Kubu. What month did you cross? Thinking of doing a one day crossing starting at Khama and finishing at Planet Baobab on June 2nd 2024. Sadly don't have time to overnight at Kuba. Other option would be tar road to Khumaga and head along the river for a bit. Would like to cross the Pan though...

    I learnt a long time ago to "ALWAYS" fill up even if its only a small amount needed. You ner know, the tanker might have broken down, no electric etc etc. This is Africa and you have to expect the unexpected.

      that one definitely blindsided me and often it is not the fuel that is the issue, maybe no electricity or the card machine doesn't work. Learned my lesson🙂

    Another super informative video, well edited nd just 👌👌. Enjoyed every single one of your videos on Botswana, hope you come back in the rainy season and show the contrast..
    For the record, during the rainy season the pans are almost a no go area. There is so much mud nd it's extremely slippery but it's beautiful (from the edge)

      thanks Dru, had such a blast in Botswana. If only there wasn't covid I could get closer to the people and involve them as well, but didn't want to risk travelling around and infecting people.
      Lol, I believe you, can only imagine some of those roads in the rainy season. I'll have to be part of the convoy though, wont risk it on my own. Hopefully, I emphasised enough that this is winter/dry season.

    Hi, I saw in 3:44 a drone shot I think, what are the rules in Botswana about that?

    • @NickfrNamibia
      @NickfrNamibia  2 года назад +1

      Terrible to get it registered, a long list of requirements and you have to take your drone to them for inspection. But once it is, will be amazing to use one there. I was lucky, by chance made friends with a guy at Nxai Pans that films for a living, we ended up at Kubu together and he did some shots for me there and on our way back to Maun.

    cool! So, is the booking office to a camping slot on kubu Island itself? How do you know if all slots are not taken up? thanks!

    • @NickfrNamibia
      @NickfrNamibia  3 года назад +2

      You can book onsite, but I would not advise this. During Covid this was ok because Kubu was empty, when normal times return one need to book via their website www.kubuisland.com/ They will of course tell you what the availability is
