Thanks for this man, I've been trying to learn the solo but god damn it's a literal mess and no one has made a decent guitar lesson on it. Thanks again
Adam Pieper There is a musical term known as “concert pitch”, which is effectively a global standard on pitch in an attempt to get as many instruments the world over to be able to play alongside each other and still be in tune. An alternative name for this term is A440, which effectively means that the note A above middle-C is 440Hz in frequency. (You may also have noticed that any songs that are in concert pitch mention A440 when that in-game tuner pops up). The released master recording of “Black Hole Sun” has been “varisped” slightly from its original recorded pitch and speed, which sadly affected the pitch. That same A in this new pitch is 455Hz, hence the A455 in the tuning description.
Texy88 Awesome, thanks a ton for your detailed response! I was still a little lost as to what this 'different' kind of tuning was exactly up until about about 2 weeks ago when I figured it out all out when I was learning Aerosmith's 'Dream On', which is in A444. I realized I had a guitar tuner that was capable of doing 433hz - 447hz, so after experiment a bit with it, I figured out what the concept behind it was and have been good to go since. But thanks again for your response - it made everything just a little more clear in my mind!
+Adam Pieper Occasionally Ubisoft has pitch-shifted songs in its library to avoid “true tunings” (i.e. non-A440 tunings), but they are only allowed to do this if the rights holders give them permission to do so.
***** I tried both the in game store and PSN store on PS3 3 hours earlier & they weren't there. Rocksmith team on FB reminded me PSN updates around 5pm Pacific time for me so hopefully I'll see it later today
you can also push and release slightly on the strings behind the neck, that way you can also bend single open notes while holding others (like in iron man the very first notes)
Is there a way to make what you see on the screen a mirror image of what's being presented? That's like learning right handed guitar from a left handed presentation and exactly opposite of how I visualize it..??
Amazing job on that solo, both to Rocksmith team and You
Not to nitpick, but it doesn't sound like any of his guitar audio is in this video.
elxvintagefade It's there, just not very audible. Most noticeable in the chorus.
Actually, toymachine confirmed that the audio had to get overdubbed due to latency issues for everything in the pack except Spoonman.
elxvintagefade Okay then amazing job to Soundgarden guitarist Kim Thayil on the solo, everyone else thanks for nothing. #whendotheliesend
Rocksmith nailed the tone perfectly 🙌 Props to the Rocksmith team!
3:04-3:34....that...was...awesome.
Moondogg22 Kim Thayil can shred
R.I.P Chris Cornell
i remember playing this on rock band 1 with my friends like 8 years ago. Now I feel old and lonely :(
some guy I remember that game as well, I freaking loved it
Damn. It’s been 8 years since you commented that. Made me feel old.
If anyone is wondering, it's around half step up from drop d
I really like this song but I've never heard that kind of effect on the verses, it sounds awesome

Wait - this has been available since late 2015? I've been just searching the interwebs for a TAB arrangement, and it's DLC? Sheesh.
Nailed it.
good work on that solo.
RIP
RIP Chris Cornell, such a pitty. going to learn the bass on this to honor him.
2 MILL I suggest the bass to _Spoonman_ as well, the bass solo in it is awesome
This music vid gave me nightmares as a kid ;_;
amazing guitar tones and riffs throughout tho, very temped to get dis.
So is the tuning DADGBE and each string is tuned slightly higher?
pretty much yeah
Annoying af
Its quarter step up from drop d
Excellent playing, as always! But what exactly does 'Drop D: A455' mean?
It's drop d but with each string tuned slightly higher
Got it! Thanks!

Wish this was out on PS3 already DX

will this game help me learn guitar?
yes, this is easy way to learn guitar. I have Rocksmith 1 year and after 7 months, I joined to band :)
Noob question, I never played guitar, but how are you supposed to use vibrato on an open string note (like in the solo) if you can't touch the string?
You bend the neck.
Or lightly use your tremolo/whammy I guess
Right. I forgot about the tremolo pedal. Thank you

Lefty mode?
So it has that??
Yup! Also you can invert the interface to be more like TAB
Well, someone mixed themselves quite far down ay
what guitar is that?
A black one
Looks like an Ibanez Roadcore to me
The solo is easy
+Familienoberhauptvogel can't wait for your video :D
thanks
:(
