- You can't find the Dragon Elder Scroll? Chances are you forgot to pick it up after doing the Lexicon puzzle so go to Tower of Mzark, take the lift down back into the puzzle room and pick it up.
Another possibility is that you sold the scroll to the Winterhold College librarian earlier on in the game. In that case you can just go buy it back.

You can use the wooden plate glitch too if the door is closed or just wanna skip the whole dwemer ruins and blackreach to immediately get to the scroll!

This came in so clutch, thank you. I don't know whether this is bad game design for not telling us to grab it or pure stupidity for forgetting to grab it even though I didn't know it was even there after solving the puzzle. Thank you though holy shit.

I get that. It puts the whole main quest line to a stop when this happens, I’d wish they would fix it so there was a marker to pick it up.

If it didn’t even go to your inventory it sounds like a glitch, but I honestly haven’t heard if this before. Maybe try to reload and take it again.
I had that problem I must have misplaced it but if you use the mod "cheat room" you can take the scroll from the quest items chest and it will complete the mission, at least that worked for me

How do you get rid of the scrolls?
You can do so by going to the college library and selling them
@@willow8186 so I got rid of one I didn't let me before because you need it for a main quest . But I sold it to an orc an weight didn't change so ima just keep it

You can only open it from the inside, after you’ve done the quest that takes you to the puzzle and to the elder scroll. This video is only a shortcut for people who forget the scroll inside, there’s no fast way to bypass the initial quest unfortunately 😅 (at least not to my knowledge)

Have you done the quest yet, the one that takes you through the ruin and to the puzzle?
The tower shows up on your map after as a fast travel point (unless you walked all the way back through the ruin to get back out).

@@jacobcurry4931 There’s actually two different quest lines that will ask you to find it.
One is a main quest called Elder Knowledge, you get it from the Greybeards. The other quest is a main quest in the DLC The Dawnguard called Seeking Disclosure.
@@willow8186 I gotcha , I’m on the dawngaurd quest looking for it now . I found the tower but it won’t let me in . Maybe I need to continue the main quest to access it .
@@jacobcurry4931 Yeah you need to follow the quest. The tower is the exit. You can enter through it after the quest is done … which is good because a lot of people forget the scroll inside after the quest is done, which is why I made this video, haha 😂

You can’t go through that door if you haven’t been through the ruin first. This is not a hack, this is a video for people who forgot to pick the scroll up because of missing game marker.

Srsly tho when i was in Blackreach game didn't show me what to do and i was somehow soflt lock from an main quest progress until i used my FUS on that big ball above the meeting room, and suddenly the game allowed me to progress (my first plaghtrough)

Yeah I think it’s an oversight on their part because they’ve put quest markers on everything else. So just an unfortunate mistake, I think.

@@realmaluchiha I think it’s because there’s no arrow, map marker or quest prompt to pick it up. They do this for every other quest in the game so I honestly just think they forgot to add it here.

I honestly just think they forgot to have the game tell you. This game usually holds your hand through every quest and gives you very clear directions, so it’s probably just because they forgot to put a marker in there, haha.

I haven't played in a while but don't they give you the quest marker during the main quest and not the Daedric quest. Or am I mistaken?

They deliberately didn't tell you where it was expecting you to find it on your own... Go back somewhere you already been and look.... Not a bug.....

It is, however, not normal for the game to NOT put a white arrow over whatever item you need to pick up for a quest, which would be why so many people forget to do so, I guess.

@@willrobinson9767 This is a Bethesda game and even though I love their games they are notoriously full of bugs and glitches 😂 (the Fallout series included).
Some bugs get fixed while some do not, and some bugs are quite random:
- The quest In My Time Of Need is randomly bugged for instance.
-Sometimes you get stuck in the mining animation without actually mining anything.
- Sometimes your companion (it might just be Serana, I’m not sure) gets stuck in sneak mode
- And other times Serana will completely disappear from your game (which you can only “fix” by reloading an old save file and then hope it doesn’t happen again).
Non of this has been fixed. In 10 years.
I any case, I know this is not a bug, I even say so in the video. But I do honestly believe that they forgot to add an arrow over the scroll since they have done that throughout the rest of the game.

If I remember correctly it will still tell you to go get the scroll but it’s not telling you where it is. It would typically be in your inventory still or you might have sold it to the librarian at the college (you can ask him to give it back).

I walked to this location but its not open for me. I am arch mage of the college and i have started the septimus quest line and im now stuck at the dawnguard quest

Yeah there’s an main quest that will take you through some ruins and the lift in the video is the exit.
You can only use it after you’ve done the quest, I just made the video to help people who forget to pick up the scroll after the quest is done and then can’t find it because the games doesn’t tell you where you left it :P

That won’t change anything as far as I’m aware, you still have to go in there to get the scroll for the main game quest.
You can only get in through the back door if you’ve already been through the ruin once though. I made the video for the people who forget the scroll the first time they’re there (happens sometimes because the game doesn’t put a marker down and tell you to pick it up after you’re done with the puzzle and the scroll is revealed ).

The scroll isn’t there? If so you might have sold it to the librarian at the college and can buy it back.
Or I believe it can also be at a table to one of the sides in the puzzle room. I think I’ve read that but I’m not sure.

You need it to finish two different main quests, one for the main game story line and one from the Dawnguard DLC.
You can sell it to the librarian up at the college of Winterhold if you don’t want to carry it around with you, just keep in mind that you have to buy it back from him once you need it for the quests (if you haven’t already done them).
