And not about him telling someone they're horrible at singing, but I think she meant overall he's not a mean person. There's a huge difference between being constructive and being an asshole. The entertainment industry is full of nasty, mean, crude people. It's infamous for it. But Simon genuinely seems like a very chill guy, and that's probably part of why he's succeeded all these years. No one wants to work with an asshole.
